did anyone watch AMC tonight ? they showed enter the dragon with written commentaries, a 2-hour documentary wich was good...BUT, they were supposed to show this thing called "bruce lee - the lost interview", and instead they're showing some special effects docu, did anyone else notice this ? I've sent an e-mail to AMC, I'll post in this thread if they tell me when this interview will air...

if you've seen this interview, share your thoughts on it...

      year??

yes I think AMC was talking about the black & white audition where Bruce was getting interviewed. It should have been titled 'The Lost Reel' because they did this whole build up of all the footage that was shot for the Game of Death that was missing and then eventually found 6 years later.

Did, anyone catch the year? I think the interview was pre-jkd becuase Bruce was being asked to compare Kung Fu against Judo & Karate. Especially, the punch which I know he describes in later interviews as the JKD punch being the superior MA punch. I don't remember hearing any mention about JKD in the interview. It seemed to be all "what's kung fu? why is it different?" etc.

"See Bruce Lee's only interview in English, taped in Hong Kong in 1971 with Canadian journalist Pierre Berton. As Lee expounds on his personal philosophy regarding the martial arts and celebrity, his forceful presence, charisma and love of the spotlight will hit you as hard as any roundhouse kick. You'll also get rare insight into how Lee felt about being an Asian star in the West, and the criticism he received in China about being too Westernized. Plus, Lee speaks of the celebrities who studied martial arts under him, from Steve McQueen to James Garner, James Coburn and Roman Polanski."

I saw it and Bruce nearly made me honk my guts. I know it was the 70s, but he was so full of empty so called philosophical crap, as if he was some kind of Prophet.
