I'll give him an 8.7. He was great but overrated. He tried to be perfect but failed in doing so.

Just couldn't resist.
We could start a whole rate the dead martial artist thread. Like what do you rate Musashi? Or how do you rate John L. Sullivan? Or we could get like really old school...how would you rate Bodhidharma? I mean he invented Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism all by himself. You know, after he sat in a cave for nine years meditating and cutting his own eyelids off.

Well its sort of annoying when someone who just joined the forums starts an absurd thread. Especially given the history of Bruce Lee threads on this forum. Obviously you didn't bother to read those before you started this crap thread. Otherwise you'd see the direction that this thread will go in very rapidly.
How did you come up with 8.7 anyway?

how would we give a proper rating? what is your criteria? have you done your research? I mean the man is dead for the love of pete. Only those close to him would know how good of a martial artist he was. I suppose you ;ll give ted wong a call.. an easy task alright

I give pat777 a 0 out of 10 for orginality and -10 out of 10 for content. I think he's baiting. Can this rating include exponents?
Besides when the average joe on the street (over 30) thinks about MA, its allways Bruce Lee. Forget Ernesto Hoost, Frank Shamrock, Vunak, Presas or Wally Jay......its Bruce Lee.
Me: "Hey guys, I just finished my muay thai class. See you at 9"
Joe: "You mean like Bruce Lee...waaa,yayyaya whaaaaa. Yeah yo know that cat-like Chinese guy. Why you trying to be like Bruce Lee?"
Me: "....uh...I don't recall saying that."Last edited by Tom Yum; 08-23-2003, 02:09 PM.
