A person who is said to be proficient in the arts is like a fool. Because of his foolishness in concerning himself with just one thing, he thinks of nothing else and thus becomes proficient. - Hagarkure
i'm not joking, we deserve to be fucked over in a very big way..
I HOPE BIN LADEN SHOOTS MY AMERICAN ASS BECAUSE I AM A STUPID **** WHO IS INVOLVED IN A SYSTEM ATIC DESTRUCTION OF OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD
This is a pathetic view and sadly one that some people and a few politicians take. This is one of the most disrespectful slanderous statements I have ever seen posted, and against your own country.
Get off the forum, Infinite4Light7. I will ban you up to and including an infinite number of times if you post again.
Please, then pack this worthless dope into a box and ship them to Pakistan and see what they cry about then.
Late to the party but hey i made it...the day the SEALs got screwed in panama was the fault of bad intel(whats new) there was supposed to be SURPRISE and LIGHT resistance from a small group that was LIGHTLY armed...so thats what the SEALs "packed" thier gear to face. They met large numbers of HEAVILY armed men in fortified positions...EXPECTING them.
It was a job for Airborne Rangers, they take airports.
As for PAUL VUNAK, if you are on the way to his place for class and his girlfriend calls him...youre gonna have to reschedule...the one thing paul likes better than fightin is f@#kin. Aside from his "weakness" he is one hell of an fighter/instructer.
Paul didnt mention his training at Damn Neck without asking...in fact i think someone at specwar suggested it to him to help him out as a way of saying thanx for all he did for h2h for the teams.
Much of what goes on in spec/war is off the books(imagine that) Teams have discretionary budgets to spend as they see fit. teaching a seal does not make you a seal trainer...an invitation to teach the teams does paul had that. paul chose to leave after awhile, it is a rough bunch...you work hard, you play hard. Paul would go hard and earned respect...frank had a no contact rule i think that sums it up.
I think I will join the Tackett forum tomorrow and remain there.
I have no comment on the imbicile ?!defending?! Usama Bin Laden.
What I do have to say is this: a Vu seminar in the early '90s was a great deal for the money. Vu was the most ego-less, unassuming, down-to-earth
high level martial artist I'd ever seen. Most of the traditional gm's I'd met act like ancient
Chinese emperors and walk around with entourages.
Just like the nonsensical anti-Bruce-Lee stuff on this website, the attacks on Guro Vunak revolve around ANECDOTE and personal attack, not his material.
I dislike a few of his ideas, esp. from kintamutai and panatukan, but overal, his material is excellent. Would that you guys could take on his methods, strategies, concepts, etc. and refrain from AD HOMINEN attacks.
Good luck with the rest of your lives.
Mike...That was AWESOME, I knew it was an old thread but when i found it , it pissed me off so i commented...glad to see others see the man and his ability, not his lifestyle. BRAVO
All this hero worship is great. But it does nothing for the guy who paid a grand for training and didn't get it.
Details please...since you have never met the man i will presume this is second hand gossip at minimum. whats your beef with vunak? You seem to have a real problem with him. Any one who has actually met the man got any complaints?
There have been a few in the past who have come in here to tell of their training with Vu who were not pleased. I believe BT is referring to one of those stories. The most recent if I'm not mistaken.
That being said, I like Mike's story, I would have loved the opportunity to train with Vu. Unfortunately I will probably never get the chance.
I also don't think BT is speaking about a lack of ability but a lack of professionalism that has been brought up many times.
Whether those stories are true or not is open to opinion. However there have been several threads regarding it ove the years.
I have often hoped Paul would come back and post on the site. He is a registered user but has not been on in a very long time. Unfortunately people would probably just attack him like all the others who have done something in the martial arts who come on here.
I am lucky enough to have a trainer who is trained under one of Vu's junior instructors.
Misunderstanding happen all the time. Usually people with an axe to grind are the ones that come out and stir things up. The ones who had a great experience are content and don't usually get on to tell about it. Which is too bad as there are things to be learned from just about anyone who has spent 20-40 years training.
I stumbled onto the forum the other day and started reading the posts about vunak and his credibility. I personally will be flying down to California next month to train with Paul. It's something that I look forward to. I've studied his system from one of his instructors but I wanted to take the next step and personally train with him. I will admit that the price is high, but like some of the responses posted previously, this will detract the non-serious ones from the serious ones. I also agree that if I am dishing out this kind of cash that I would receive full one on one training with Paul himself, and not from one of his senior instructors. I won't have any preconceptions or prejudgements on him based on what is said from one person or another (whether they be good or bad points about the guy). I plan to make that decision based on my own personal experience when I meet and train with him. I will let you know when it's all said and done.
