  • from Kendo to Hapkido

ive been studying Kendo for a year and a half, and am now looking to begin training in hapkido, to round out my skills,
however i am having trouble finding a credible dojo here in toronto (ont, Can) adn was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
...any thoughts or suggestion are more than welcome. thank you.

How do you suppose Hapkido is going to 'round out' your skills?

good question. i supose i believe itll round out my skills because, ive seen a few guys at my kendo club go on hiatus for a 6 months to a year to study Aikido and/or hapkido, and each case they returned to kendo being able to hit harder, faster, and identify openings in an oponents Kamai more effectively.

Changing your training perspective is usually a good thing, to be sure. But you have to be careful what habits you pick up in your training.

If you are in the Toronto area you might want to register at Senshido.com in the forums and shoot the same question over there.

        Tell em I sent ya.

It astounds me how many Canadians are looking into all kinds of crap when Richard is one their door-step.

Right. Canadians. Anyone want to swap lives? We have Coronation Street, Benny Hill and the WORLD RUGBY UNION CHAMPIONS HURRAH HURRAH HURRAH over here? Anyone?

...bri, let me educate you a little....Canada is the second largest country in the world....

It's not as simple as "your canadian? Go look up rich"

lol. We dont all know each other up here.....

Our population density is 3 people per km square!!

...i guess an 8 hour drive isn't to bad now and then...but still. Im relatively close to rich! lol.

Isn't Canade just one small state of the USA?

                Only joking

Actually I got my Toronto's and my Montreauls mixed up, and suspect that Spunker did the same.

No, I didn't get anything mixed up people. Nor did I say 'Hey Rich knows Hapkido'

Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Missoula and Spokane are hours and hours away from me as well, however, when people ask me about places to train I do know one or two in each city.

Even if they didn't know anyone in Toronto I was betting that they might know someone who knew someone who knows. Ya know?

                  Spanky what likes the kata.
