well i guess i can tell u that's it's pretty funni when u the guy ur in a fight with thinks he's all bad and tough..and then u give him one quick straight jab to the jaw......that's good stuff..(this was b4 i started ma)...it's the guys that are"intimdating" are the guys that can't really fight.....i heard this saying once...it's real simple but to the point..." if your a martial artist, then don't look like one" and that means if u boast that ur a black belt in....tae kwon do...and u tell ur opponent that...well now he knows ur strenghts and weakness....same with the big intimidating guys....he thinks he's all bad and tells u exaclty what he's going to do to u....it's too easy to counter and take him out.....it's really funni actually..that's happened(seriously) a total of about 4 times now...it's the guys who don't talk that u really have to watch out for...ma or not....
well that's my take on it...it's from experiance...so ya....

      Point of view

      Good point.

It's not the loudmouths you have to watch out for, it's the quiet ones who rarely say anything and don't show off or demonstrate. They don't run their mouths or show off because they don't need to. My instructor told me this years ago. Don't go around bragging about practicing because most people don't understand what martial arts are about. A lot of people would take the fact that you practice Tae Kwon Do, karate, Judo whatever as a sort of challenge to see what you can do. Believe me, I've been there. The best thing to do is just keep practicing. If someone wants to make trouble or fight then let them discover what you are capable of. Not that I'm advocating looking for trouble-I am not. But if you brag about practicing or broadcast it for all to see, in the event of real trouble you are setting yourself up for defeat by giving away your best weapon.
Along the same lines, if you must fight you must act decisively. Because if you use Tae Kwon Do and your technique doesn't work, now your opponent knows you practice and will adjust his strategy accordingly.

I guess that the makes the majority of the participants of these forums good-for-nothing posers.

I like a nice tiger claw grown pull or strike to nose and eyes. Elbows and knees work great. Use knees in clinches. Don't even hesitate the fight will end very quickly. I don't like to brag at all. I actually havn't seen a maist brag to be honest(except for forums). I do brag jokingly with my other ma friends and they do it back. Like when one of us is not prepared we will fake a strike and argue, lol. With one friend sometimes we had to break it down into sparring at work until we got caught . I cannot help it really i'm an addict.
