I think Choi took a valid idea, dropping your weight forward into a strike and went overboard with it.

For the record, my TKD master learned pre-sinewave and never taught it. Matter of fact he hated what happened to the ITF patterns when they added it.

    Opinions?

Sine wave was an atempt to make TKD sound more modern and scientific i think(My oppinion and its my own). Its a wasted movement and it telegraphs your intentions.I would much prefer to raise up as i punch not sink down into it.By rising you can also involve the leg muscles rather than dropping into a technique and not utillizing the extra force. Its particularly wasted on kicks because they are usually above waist height so that a kick is going up wile your sinking down.
