  • Tunes in your head?

What song (s) do you like to play while training or before a tournament? which one gets you pumped?
I like a few but I like to listen to Prodigy's Smack my B*** up. I know, I'm a woman and I like that song *gasp*. I don't take it seriously...I like the beat...heh heh!

Not so much a song.... I have a couple Rage Against the Machine and Public Enemy CDs that get the random/replay treatment

Oh, about workout music, I could go with Prodigy, Rage, Tupac or Dre (da Cronic!). That's right...the hardcore stuff from the 90's.

Sorry about that last one Geneva.

I don't ever use music to get pumped while training. I get enough pump having someone trying to lay a beat down on me so I go for clear and calm. BTW This is something that I had to use during an incident last week to keep it from going out of control.

                Thanks for the responses

I was just curious...I don't listen to music during class but if I'm at home practicing or in my car on the way to a tournament there are a few cds I like to listen to.

I also like Rage against the machine, Tool is a must, Fugazi, my friend Evan's band Cage9(check them out http://www.Cage9.com), Ministry(In case you didn't feel like showing up).

                Broken elbow...no biggie heh heh!

                  Old School!

                  My favorite hype music...

                  Bad Religion...Dont pray on me

                  Anthrax...Potter's Field

                  Freestyle...Dont stop the Rock

                  Twilight 22...Electric Kingdom

I listen to the first two during strenuous exercise and training...I get the later two stuck in my head before the fight. They are early 80's skating rink music...nice to set the rythem...I even hum Dont stop the Rock during my fights to keep my mind rythmic!

Enjoyed a fresh, fun, no strategy thread...THANKS~

Punks jump up (to get beat down) by Brand Nubian. The Last Samurai soundtrack, The Best of Steel Pulse, Bob Marley Songs of Freedom. Several others as well that I can't think of right now. We have gotten into the habit of listening to music.

". . . nobody wants to get their ass beat to a soundtrack. . ."
                    - Dave Chappelle

                      Last Samurai

I also listen to that one but mostly when I want to relax or when falling asleep. Once in a while I play it outdoors when I'm practicing with my bo.

Spookey, I've never heard of twilight 22...what kind of music is it?

                          Twilight 22...Electric Kingdom

                          Geneva,

Twilight 22 is what one would call the forerunner to rap music...hard breakdancing music from the late 70's early 80's ...This style of music is from the Harlem, Queens, Bronx skating rink era...

You should check it out sometimes...all great fight rythems...

Twilight 22, Afrikaan Boombata, Soul Sonic Force, Freestyle...

Titles: Electric Kingdom, Give it all you got, Planet Rock, Dont Stop the Rock, ect.

                          Thanx for the interest,
                          Spookey

Although I'm not a rap music fan at all...I'm more into 90's alternative rock, latin rock, salsa...but I can't imagine doing martial arts while listening to salsa music! hah hah!
