      • You are incorrect.

        You are mis-intepreting the data.

You may burn a higher percentage of fat related to carbs with long slow aerobic activity.

High intensity interval training causes more fat loss in a shorter amount of time.

The reason is it increases the metabolism so that you continue to burn after the activity is over. This is not true of LSD.

Hit also takes much less time. 20 minutes vs. over 45 for LSD.

Check out these sites and you might understand why the pro's use hiit. http://www.sportsci.org/jour/0101/cf.htm[/URL]

The impact of two different modes of training on body fatness and skeletal muscle metabolism was investigated in young adults who were subjected to either a 20-week endurance-training (ET) program (eight men and nine women) or a 15-week high-intensity intermittent-training (HIIT) program (five men a …

        • Then your teachers have a poor knowledge of exercise science. Or their knowledge is simply outdated. In any case their opinions are irrelevent. There are many studies that show the effectiveness of hit.

I've been training people for over 12 years.

HIIT has been proven more effective for athletes. Now obese people often use LSD because they cannot tolerate the intensity. But we aren't talking about obese people we are talking about training athletes.

It doesn't matter to me what you believe. But one way works quickly, Go to body for life website and see the results of 12 weeks.

I ran long distance for years and I can attest that HIIT works better.

There are no fat sprinters. But I've seen many chubby around the middle marathoners.

You want to be cut, better look into HIIT. Want to be a strung out heroin addict do long slow distance, and prepare for Knee replacement.

          • Impact of exercise intensity on body fatness and skeletal muscle metabolism.

Tremblay A, Simoneau JA, Bouchard C.

Physical Activity Sciences Laboratory, Laval University, Ste-Foy, Quebec, Canada.

The impact of two different modes of training on body fatness and skeletal muscle metabolism was investigated in young adults who were subjected to either a 20-week endurance-training (ET) program (eight men and nine women) or a 15-week high-intensity intermittent-training (HIIT) program (five men and five women). The mean estimated total energy cost of the ET program was 120.4 MJ, whereas the corresponding value for the HIIT program was 57.9 MJ. Despite its lower energy cost, the HIIT program induced a more pronounced reduction in subcutaneous adiposity compared with the ET program. When corrected for the energy cost of training, the decrease in the sum of six subcutaneous skinfolds induced by the HIIT program was ninefold greater than by the ET program. Muscle biopsies obtained in the vastus lateralis before and after training showed that both training programs increased similarly the level of the citric acid cycle enzymatic marker. On the other hand, the activity of muscle glycolytic enzymes was increased by the HIIT program, whereas a decrease was observed following the ET program. The enhancing effect of training on muscle 3-hydroxyacyl coenzyme A dehydrogenase (HADH) enzyme activity, a marker of the activity of beta-oxidation, was significantly greater after the HIIT program. In conclusion, these results reinforce the notion that for a given level of energy expenditure, vigorous exercise favors negative energy and lipid balance to a greater extent than exercise of low to moderate intensity. Moreover, the metabolic adaptations taking place in the skeletal muscle in response to the HIIT program appear to favor the process of lipid oxidation.

              • Yeah okay, 20 minutes 3 or 4 times a week, vs. often upwards of an hour 7 days a week some even doing 2 or more hours a day. It's about wearing out the joint not impact.

Sorry it's a question of milage.

And unless you can post something intelligent don't bother.
Let's see some recent studies that say LSD has a greater effect on body fat than HIIT.

Your inability to grasp a simple concept is amazing.

Better go to a real school and study with real text books, and teacher that know what they are talking about.

                  • see that's all you had to say. See now you can feel smarter and more informed.

I would suggest that you are not looking at a high level book. As I said, the exercise itself burns more fat. But you have too see the effects of HIIT throughout.

It hypes metabolism and thus has a great effect on fat loss.

                    see simple.

                    • god, you are gay. you know that is not my post, you changed it to make me look like i agree with you. i do not agree.

                      who cares...........HIIT is stupid.

i am going to go read the book of five rings to try to keep me from commiting suicide by cop. so you can argue to yourself for a little while.

anyway, I leave this thread for a little longer to see if you have anything intelligent to add otherwise it's time this thread was closed.
