  • kicking problems...

For some reason I cant seem to strech very well because my hip socket blocks my leg from getting the full strech. This sort of gives me kicking problems sometimes. Does anyone else have this happen to them or know or know how to make your hip socket work better for you?

Yeah i do aswell, which means i cannot hold high kicks (above head height) for to long before my muscles cramp in my buttocks and hip socket locks up which is painfull, it might be down to the way i warmup like i don't take my knees out wide enough in warm up

Well I am pretty flexible. I cannot hold my leg up for a super super long time or anything but its not really important to do that anyway.

But to get your glutus mucle (butt) strong you have to work on strength training on that part and your leg will not cramp up as much. When I was a yellow belt I think...or was it green?? I learned the hook kick and it took me a lot of kicks to get to where it did not bother me at all. Just kick it over and over and you will get good.

At school there was a chiropracter giving free evaluations. I found out my hip is out of line and that is why the socket does not allow for full extension. If I ever get enough money I will get it fixed and then I can strech WAY better.

Sometimes its good to go get checked out if you are having problems.
