im not a massive fan of leg kicks, so maybe a slight modification to that...

push kick (rear leg) to the stomach, put enough force into it to wind them and knock them backwards, put the right (kicking) leg down in front, take a step forwards to catch up with them, putting your foot down at about a 45 degree angle before throwing a roundhouse kick with your right leg. get the head if your front kick buckled them over enough for you to be conident, otherwise the ribs will do. thats just preference tho, i love that combo

it is easiest to kick someone in the head if they're leaning over/on the floor ill agree tho. i wont hit people in the groin tho, i just dont want to

well if your going to use a rear leg front kick(push kick) then set it down and close the gap with a shuffle step and use a rear leg roundhouse kick to end it. Just a thought on aother combo.

i wear the real basic vans shoes. they are real light and simple, allowing me good movement. i do bagwork in my garage with my shoes on all the time, as the shoes allow me full range of motion and dont hamper my movements at all. i wear these shoes everywere i go because i know they will let me move around easily if needed.

I have some 1980's reebok throwbacks. I love em, they're like Converse chuck taylors with a little more padding and a wider foot. Gotta say though the Vans are a good idea for bagwork, the huge tounges on those shoes would be great padding for your instep.

i wear boots and jeans, so i cant kick with speed or with height on the street. im stuck punching people. which sucks given my kicks are the best tool ive got, not sure what to do about it though
seppuku, I had the same problem with levi's or jeans, Bring them to a taylor and for about 8 bucks a pair they sew a new crotch shaped like the one in a gi and its not noticeable.
At one time century martial arts sold a type of denim pants called Billy Jack Jeans.

theres an idea... take them to a taylor. cool. found out today that ive got a pair of cord like things that i can hit waist height with with no problems, so im not so worried now since i wear them lots. i think i may find a taylor anyway tho... best advice ive had yet. cheers
