Life is just a mountain, and each martial art is just another way to the top. Its your life, do what you enjoy. The Martial Art you take should be more that just phyical, you should enjoy doing it, get something out of it, and if you love TKD then just freakin do it! It doesn't matter what people say about your martial art. Just because people say your martial art sucks doesn't mean you should go out and change martial arts. Analysis your school, is what they teach combative, do you even want to learn a martial art that is combative, maybe you want a self-defence martial art, or just a way to stay fit. But for crap sake, stop asking which martial art is better and go out and train as many as you can, and deside for yourself.

Hii new here
I think and belive it is the artist not the art that make it effective or not.
all of these art are made for SD and all of them are effective if you train hard, with the right instructor.

I don't believe there is a superior martial art. I believe that there can be a superior martial artist. I do think that some diciplines can counter others better than another. But you also have to concider what dicipline works best for you, you should examine your strengths and weaknesses before choosing a dicipline and they're principles.

ALL OF THEM!
Only if they taught correctly and applied correctly. If not, don't waste your time. Humans are the weak link in that chain! We fail, the techniques do not. We do not perfect the techniques, they perfect us.

There is no superior martial art... there are superior training methods and there are people who are more naturally suited to be fighters than others. I currently believe that as far as technique goes, you are not going to find one system to be superior to another. I do believe that the art of Kyuk Too Ki is the most realistic in its training methods. Based on everything that I've heart about it and seen suggest that it is essentially the Korean equivalent to Muay Thai. Admittedly though, my knowledge of this system is limited. Anyone with further knowledge of this system feel free to chime in. I'd love to learn more about it.

The individual makes the style, the style does NOT make the individual.
All the above styles are effective when the right practitioner finds the right style for them.
If you're good you're good so if you suck then you suck.

No offense, but that is as true as believing that one system is superior to another. Certain styles have more realistic perspectives on combat... certain individuals are more predisposed to be fighters... and certain training methods are superior to all others. The truth lies somewhere beween them all.
There is no single answer. I chose kyuk too ki because it embodied 2 of those elements... realistic perspectives on combat and superior training methods. Two out of three ain't bad.

I don't disagree with you about realistic perspectives on combat and good training techniques, but that can be applied to all the above arts anyway. In that case then I would suggest the instructor's attitude towards training their students and the students keeping an open, yet practical, mind would become more important than the style itself.

Types of martial arts are systems to aquiring a perticular attidute or character. The concept of better martial arts etc, make no sense. The arts dont realy exist. I mean can you buy a pint of tae kwon do?, it is mearly a set of concepts. The person behind the system matters more than the system. It is men who fight, not traditions and opinions.
Tang soo do was involved in the development of kongsoo do then tae kwon do, they cant be compare anyway as they are various stages of development. Since taekwondo mean hand and foot way, its just korean fighting. We could have the way of the english hand and foot.
