he should make up his own mind, but before that he can gather information and opinions. New angles to look at MAs and training. I see nothing wrong with that.

WILL YOU STOP!!! CAN YOU USE THE SHIT YOU WERE TAUGHT OR NOT!!! DAMN ITS THAT SIMPLE. Who care the percentages can MT beat TKD yes can TKD beat MT in MT competition Yes and there are TKD fighters from this community in Thailand that have done it SO WHAT!!!! One day you swear off combat sports then you want combat sports. Forum members give you your answers in 20 different ways and you curse or act like the effin rain man. Do you even have friends because I can see why you would not. How about opening your mouth to a stranger on the school yard if you beat him TKD is the best if not try to get a refund if you even attend classes. Also, get a life and become a high school drop-out make your family proud you effin cornball.

if the rules are that you can only kick then it's very good IMHO. The sidestance could be a problem considering powerful lowkicks, but that's about it. And if you're only allowed to kick and not even grab the kick, TKD would beat everything probably, because of the focus on kicks.

I don't know if this is true. But if MT guys are more fit and stronger, obviously they're doing the right things in their training...
By the way, what "problem" are you referring to?

Go to a gym where they teach other forms and spar with them for a while. See how you do.

You don't have to justify the path you took by getting everyone elses' opinions; go out and do something to answer your own question about its effectiveness. If you are really doubting TKD then take something else for a while, and go back to it later if you change your mind.

If you are the same person I discussed this with earlier (Mastah), then you'll remember I mentioned the benefits of "alive" training. You're never going to know how effective you and your art are unless you use it in a somewhat more diverse and realistic setting. Just keep it in a gym

Let's say that TKD practitioners were as serious about their training as MT guys. Would TKD guys do well in MT bouts? I think not. Would MT guys do well in TKD bouts? I think not.
What about "a real fight"? Personally I would give the edge to the MT fighter, because he trains inclose fighting as well, has better boxing, and would dominate in the clinch with knees. Once (or if) it goes to the ground, it's even.
            That's my take on it.
