    Are you using "conventional" projectiles?

I know a couple of demolitions guys that might argue that one...

Not much can kill a man faster than high explosives...

    How about milliseconds?

I think that aikido is a good style, like any style it has its advantages and disadvantages. I would definitely say it is not a BS style. Anyone who trains hard in any style can become proficient in it and do many great things. I also know that the many movements he uses in the movies actually are the moves he uses when he teaches. It is true that it takes awhile to learn the timing but, aikido is a life long pursuit as are many other marital arts. A good video to watch about steven segal is called "The path beyond thought" maybe you can download it or something. It explains the many facets of Aikido and the pursuit of excellence that steven segal personifies. I have practiced a small amount of aikido and watched quite a bit of it. The people i saw were pretty good. I think that it is noble that you would try to learn a much more difficult art such as aikido. The art itself has deep roots in martial arts and as I said before the Art demands excellence and discipline to perform the technical moves that aikido employs. Tae Kwon Do is an art that is also great, and can be complimented by almost any other martial art. TKD also can teach you to be a better person and may take you further in life by its tennets. I prefer TKD because I like the movements in the art and they are very scientific to say the least. It is actually the oldest of the martial arts and has a great history of combat. Also at low levels it is still effective in street performance if that is what you are searching for. TKD and Aikido are very similar because they both rely on no resistance or using the force of your opponent to win. TKD was designed for quick retaliation and decisive winning blows that stop an attacker or opponent sometimes with one blow. It will be interesting to see what art you choose, or maybe you will train in many arts remember a good foundation in one art usually compliments another art as to not water it down. This is my opinion on these things, good luck and train hard.

          You've made a contradiction.

            Your opinion is flawed...
