Not really because I dont get smashed that often, its just that the majority of my gradings have con-incided with friend's parties in the past. Although to my credit I've passed every single one of them at a high standard and recently I had a tournament on a Sunday and abstained from drinking that saturday night before.
I suppose its just a clash of 'social groups'. Im sure i'll sort it out, as i said im trying to do it know, its my birthday in 5 days and im going out, lets just hope i stay to my word and arrive home in 1 peice...
I think your on to something there, I find it difficult to reconcile MAs with "normal life" in a surprisingly numerous amount of aspects, perhaps this partying vs. training is one of them.
Its always been an aspect that i have had difficulties dealing with. Its hard to live as a martial artist and still do percievably day-to-day things, almost all of it interferes with our training, wether it be fitness or diet there are still huge obstacles to deal with. A large part of being a devoted martial artist is sacrifice.
Too true - Peer Pressure! Peer Pressure! Seriously though its what a lot of people look forward to during the week, going out with thier "mates", few bevvies and having a laugh.
