  • Video of me fighting

This is a video of my fighting, I'm in the red, at a charity fight night. I'm in the coloured belt heavyweight mens division, so the guy I was fighting was an absoloute meathead. We drew the first round and then he won the decider. Enjoy.

Here's half of the second round, I took a lot more control in this part of the fight. By the end of this I had lost both contact lenses which made things interesting .

Big ups for fighting, and for posting the video of it It looks like he beat you with his hands. When he got in close it didn't look like you had an answer for the flurries of punches he was throwing. I have two suggestions. The first is to work on your guard- keep your hands up at all times; you have to protect your face. The other is to work on your foot work. If you had circled out of the way he wouldn't have been able to unload like he did. That's just my $.02 though, I've got to respect you for getting in there and slugging it out. Are you going to fight again soon?

Thanks for the kind words man, what you've said is exactly what I felt I should have done with hindsight, and also combo my kicks a bit more to keep him at range. I'll be fighting again at the end of next month at the british open, maybe I'll have another video!

Ok Good Job but it looks like you were struggling. You should have juggled him up a bit and them went in for the knock out.
Keep up the good work though

I think my major problem was that I didn't keep my wits about me. I was too concerned with what he was doing and not what I was doing, it'll come with experience though I guess.

Big up to ya Piston, it takes guts to post the video of your fight on the net, take into account what the others have said and im positive your'll get a result at the British Open. Its good to see that you have looked at your performance and pin pointed by yourself where you think there were weaknesses, its the best way to improve and im sure thats exactly what your going to do. Well done.

Good on you for fighting. Never turn your back on your opponent like you did a few times there. Definitely work on your footwork like others have said. Keep your guard up and when you practise your sparring get your opponent to imitate what that guy did with his flurry of punches, then you will become accustomed to it and learn to counter it.

Thanks for posting and best of luck next time.

Yeah, you turned your back on the guy a few too many times.

My shotokan sensei tried that on me once, and got a swift punch to the kidney.
