  • Running for tkd

    Hey,
I would appreciate advise on wich kind of running workout is better for combat tkd (WTF).
    thanks

same as any other martial art mate, mix it up, if you want good aero endurance 800 meter sprints (work up to that) works well.

something like 4 X 800. throw in a couple of short sprint days such as 8X100 meters and one long slow ( active recovery) session.

that would be reasonable, but work up to it, start 3 times a week. 1 of each and lower reps.

thats my advice anyway. there are other good ways too.
hope that helps and good luck with your training.

Find the side of a nice, steep hill and practice running up the hill. A lot of elite fighters run the hill.

            Good luck and train safe

LOL, not until you can run a while, recipe for bucked shins and all kinds of training setbacks!

I guess the Olympic Team has it all wrong. Would you please come and train them?

If the Olympians couldn't "run for a while," I don't think they'd enjoy their current training even a little bit. But as it turns out, most of them are in much better shape than most of us walking around every day. Hard running on the hills takes some preliminary conditioning.

The routine I posted takes some preliminary conditioning, too, if you're being realistic about it.

                    Thank you.
