  • Awesome Hapkido Ki Strike demonstrated on video!

This is a link to a high quality free internet show produced by Media Moguls.

In this episode the Grandmaster Ki strikes another student … insane, the guy passes out and goes limp in mid-air… watch closely! It plays twice. In addition the Grandmaster explains the concepts of some techniques for the host of the show.

You can see it at Media Moguls, Inc.

Click on the show “Best Defense” (channel 6), it’s in the top right-hand corner under Tactical Hapkido.

It sounds a little Dillman-esque to me

      What does "Dillman-esque" mean?
And that looked pretty sweet. I just joined traditional hapkido. First class and the guy was teaching me immediatley, by the end of the class, how to do simple joint locks. It was awesome.

Just a bad joke. Hapkido's not bad. Hope you enjoy your training.

I've been to tournaments he held at the Hamburg Fieldhouse, but never to one of his seminars. My instructors that have attended those say that "if" one actually presses the right direction with the proper pressure the points work.

That was a great video. I really like how they worked from one lock to another so fluidly. That slap seems to be a variation of a 1" punch.

Another good example of someone using chi to influence another is what I've seen some Tai Chi masters do. The attacker actually looked as if they walked into some invisible object and stopped mid attack.

The man was working with a blind guy at the beginning of the video, if I remember correctly. That tells me the blind guy might actually fight pretty well.
If you've ever run into a hapkido practioner you may have a different opinion afterwards.
