  • Dux Ryu?

Alright, here's the deal I have been looking at some of this stuff with this Frank Dux guy and seems the guy is full of crap. I saw his website and posted a few things on their forum and they all seem like they try to cover up for Dux so he can keep his rep.

What does everyone else think about his art Dux Ryu? Has anyone actually even seen this art done before?

    Oh no, not this again...

We have almost as many Dux threads as we do Lee threads!

      ohhhohohoh

Their such bad mofo CRAZY Ninja K1ll4rz...

The word "Ninja" denotes one whose spirit is as sharp as the edge of a blade. In Dux Ryu Ninjitsu, we train three aspects of our person: our MIND for wisdom, our BODY for strength, and our SPIRIT for tranquility.

Our classes are held on the campus of The University of Southern California in the Physical Education building in room 201... Thank you and sorry for the inconvience

Yea, tell me about it Spanky. I just want to know what the deal is. If anyone has actually seen this crap before. Sounds like another one of his full on lies to me. I mean check this crap out.

Why don't Dux Ryu students compete in tournaments?
The training and techniques in Dux Ryu do not translate well for competition. We usually refuse outside requests to spar in our dojo since they do not want to follow our rules--which is that there are no rules. However, Dux Ryu black belts do occasionally make trips to other dojos for friendly sparring where they follow the house rules, even if it severely limits their options.
Sounds like they are either full of crap or too scared to compete. Maybe both!!!

From what I've seen of 'ninja' training it is not geared towards any kind of competition.

The art I train is totally focused on self preservation. My sensei routinely states the fact that we would get owned in competitions: Point sparring, mma, kendo etc. We'd be hamburger.

Double checking our web page we don't discuss competition training. We routinely get phone calls asking about that, which are redirected to the BJJ group and a few other schools who do compete.

However, we do not state that we are simply just too dangerous for competition.... That is a crock.

From what I can tell from talking to them Spanky seems like everything about their style is B.S. They keep telling me stuff like this guy Dux went around the world and fought all these people but they can't come up with any proof and they even said they have videos of some of these mysterious fights but they refuse to show them.

They are saying stuff like this guy punched through bulletproof glass and stuff........what a crock!!!!

              It sounds like it.

However, Blood Sport is a fun movie, right up until the lame assed slow motion ending...

I thought I would share this little bit that I found on the Dux website. Tell me what you think about this move that Dux uses to beat the Fish guy. If you ask me from a grapplers stand point I have never heard of such a move and sounds like it would not work. I have never heard a grappler use a scissor lock from the top position and this guy must have some really long legs if he can scissor lock all the way around the other guys upper body with his arms inside the lock.

HOW DID HANSHI CLEAN THE FISH?

One of the most satisfying moments in Hanshi's autobiography The Secret Man was when he dispatched the psychopathic agent-gone-bad serial killer dubbed "The Fish." Here are the actual quotes from page 304:

"I made a single leap to reach him before he could pull a knife or other weapon, and we collided. He went down. . . . I was on top of Fish, and although he threw himself into a frenzy of movement with everything he had, I wasn't budging. My legs scissor-locked in a stranglehold around his torso, pinning his arms to his sides and making the push dagger he'd drawn in our struggle useless except to scratch futilely at the ground. He got only one chance to jerk his head to the side in an aborted protest before I had his neck in my hands. I could feel his pulse beating wildly beneath my thumbs."

What is so impressive about the maneuver is that Hanshi applied it so quickly to a fully resisting adversary who was also well-versed in hand to hand combat. Now I've seen some wicked mounts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu where the guy on the bottom ends up with his arms trapped between himself and the guy on top, but where the guy on the bottom still manages to escape. Hanshi's maneuver allowed for no escape, and in my mind this clearly shows the superiority of DRN as a fighting system over BJJ.

Wow! I didn't know you could strangle someone around their torso.

It's amazing enough that he could just get his legs all the way around the guys body and his arms.

How exactly do you do a scissor lock from the top again........lol.......what a joke.

Mr. Poopy - LOL I was just thinking the same thing.

I have never heard of Dux Ryu is this Ninjitsu (sorry to ask a stupid question) or is everyone saying it a fantasy art like ninjutsu.

Regarding the leg scissor-offensively not as a counter ..hmmmmm. Damn he must have been able to leg press a garbage truck and the abductors-damn-he would be able to benmda solid steel pipe into a pretzel, I think his guy could leap tall buildings in a single bound and is faster than a speeding bullet.

I am still trying to understand this position that he is in to scissor somone usually it is on the side, maybe behind...but on top....maybe I am just not understanding how that could realistically be done without breaking your ankles, how would you stand...please somone let me know I am curious.

So he leaped to prevent the person from pulling some type of weapon, but then the person was able to pull the weapon...a dagger...then he felt teh pulse beat rapidlly [as he choked him]
This sounds like he is having a eff'n wet dream....the nasty bastard

Well I geuss BJJ is the gold standard for fighting now since they feel compelled to claim "superiority". I hate instructors or schools that preach this nonsense. Even if that story were true what does it have to do with BJJ...I assume this story took l place prior to the creation of BJJ and I am sure, since he was pulling a weapon, the other guy was not a BJJ stylist. It does sound like a lot of garbage.

If they are so confident in the style why attack other arts. Even as cocky as the Gracies were in the begining I don't remember (though I could be wrong) them attacking indivual styles (maybe if they were asked specifically) they just generally felt they could beat any style.

The closest thing I can come up with is a triangle started in the mount. It's possible to grab the opponents arms if he reaches under one of your legs, roll him over and go into a triangle, but i seriously doubt that's what he's talking about. You wouldn't wrap your legs around both his arms to disable his arms. And it wouldn't matter even if you could. I don't think it'd be that hard to get out of.

Unfortunately enough Dux Ryu Ninjitsu is a real style that was created by Frank Dux who we all know as the guy from "Bloodsport". Basically this guy is so full of crap that he constantly makes up these wild and fabricated stories.

Apparently the guy used to work for the CIA, he trains Navy SEALS, he has mastered 22 different martial arts, he has created the first American Ninjitsu system, he can punch straight through bullet proof glass and chop the tops off beer bottles thanks to his mastery of Dim Mak...........the list goes on and on........supposidly this guy has over 300 NHB matches and has never lost and he claims to have been all over the world beating the best guys in the game for about 25yrs.

O yea and he holds various world records like the worlds fastest kick at a measly 70 something MPH. Which there are plenty of guys out there that can kick faster than that. And he holds the record for the fastest knockout in like 2.7 seconds........although they didn't mention if he was the one knocking out or knocked out......

Wow, who can kick over 70 MPH? And how do you get a kick that fast?

                            Later...
