A good combination might be BJJ and Enshin Karate. I think one of Enshin Karate strategies is throwing the adversary and then finishing him in the ground with a punch or a kick. For this purpose Enshin Karate includes several throws. Enshin practice could be a way for a BJJ practicioner to get some extra throwing practice as well as aquiring some striking skills. But I don“t know much about this brand of karate so I can be wrong.

      Ah punch or Ah kick?

Oh yeah, that's that fantasy planet where I do this and he does that then I do this....

Both are faster than a choke or an arm bar, and allow you to avoid going to the ground.
