  • RINGS Block B card...

Another good MMA event for December 22.

    1.Joop Kasteel vs Bobby Hoffman

    2.Volk Han vs Lee Hasdel

    3.Andrei Kopylov vs Tom Sauer

    4.Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira vs Kanehara

    5.Ricardo Arona vs Emielianentco Fedor

    6.Tsyoshi Kohsaka vs Mikail Iloukine

    7.Carlos Barreto vs Chris Haseman

    8.Yamamoto vs Bitsade Ameron

    Winner of 1 vs 2
    Winner of 3 vs 4
    Winner of 5 vs 6
    Winner of 7 vs 8

And these Block B winners will face the Block A winners (Couture, Nogeira, Overeem, and Dave Menne) in the final King of Kings tournament showdown in the new year. Remember Rings are full of suprises, this should be intresting...

The top 3 candidates most likely to win the event are (in no particular order):

      Couture
      Nogueira
      Arona

Block A was a very exciting event. Block B may not be as good as Block A since the roster is not as flashy. Hopefuly there's lotsa finishes. Too bad Gilbert Yvel is not back.

I am only aware of one shoot in RINGS, not to long ago against Hammer House wrestler Brandon Lee Hinkle which he armbared. He is one of the old RINGS veterans that is popular for his entertaining works, after RINGS turned to an all shoot event last year he kept on pulling out of fights. I wouldnt be suprised if he retires soon. But note that just because he is a regular "worker" doesnt mean he will be easy pickings for the experienced fighters in the tournament. For example Kypolov had been known for only doing works in RINGS and his physical apearance (old, fat, balding) made him look nothing like what a profesional fighter should yet he quickly submited Castelo Branco who some thought was the favorite to win the tournament since Branco had a DRAW with Igor Vochanchin in Russian AFC. Full Contact Fighter magazine had a great cover with Castello on his knees with his head lowered in shame while the fat old man stood with his hands up in triumph, weird sight to see. And Kypolov showed that the win was not a 1 in a million fluke by again easily leglocking Joop Kasteel in his next RINGS tornament fight. Another regular RINGS worker Yamamoto has had terriable losing streak and has not been able to make the jump into real fights ironicly Brad Kohlar managed to beat him in I think his last win before starting his own losing streak. I feel sorry for Yamamoto since he has the desire to fight and certainly tries but hasnt managed any success unlike other workers in RINGS.

RINGS is becoming my favorite event. I love the fact that they get alot of finishes in the fights.

            On Koplyov:

"again easily leglocking Joop Kasteel in his next RINGS tornament fight"

That was Ricardo Fyeet... a mean looking bastard that almost decapitated the tough Tyrone Roberts in the bracket's 1st round.

Volk Han looks old and beat up... But he has some skills, size, and a lot of knowledge. His apprentice Illioukine is a badass also.

Joop Kasteel vs. Hoffman will be awesome. Kasteel handed Tamura his first ever ass-kicking in a shoot. He is huge, mean, and Dutch!!!

Cacareco is one to watch... he will be in PRIDE someday. This former Hugo Duarte disciple is young, strong, ugly, mean, dirty, and technical. Those are strong traits. His only loss was a DQ to Tim OBAKE Catalfo for eye gouges in IVC.

I just feel bad that Cacareco has to roll around with Kanehara and his thong-thong-thong-thong-thong!!!!

Yamamoto is the RINGS grappling dummy.

Thanks for the correction, It's hard to keep track of all these Dutch strikers.

If it wasn't for his bleached goatee and bleached hair, Fyeet would blend right in.

                  uhh...

Cool looking Black guy, I was suprised that he beat Tyrone Roberts a good experienced fighter.

I just remembered who Joop Kasteel is, I saw him fight Pete Williams in an old RINGS event. This guy had horriable endurance, big and strong but if his cardio is the same now then I think Hoffman is going to KO him.
