I read an interview with Pancrase Fighter Omar Bouiche, and he was asked about Rickson and Sak. He said among other things that they were the Michael Jordans of their respective sports (Jiu-Jitsu and shootfighting). In the middle of all this, he said that Rickson was in Brazil and fought half a year ago, and he submitted 15-16 of the worlds absolute top class grapplers. He relly said that they were the best grapplers in the world, and Rickson submitted them one by one. Does anyone know what kind of event this was or what names it featured?

Someone on the UG said Omar also said that. Its complete bullshit man. You think it wouldn't have leaked until now? When was the last time 16 of the world's top grapplers were in the same place? If you believe that then I have some real estate to sell you.

I didn't say I believed it, but when it comes from a top fighter in such a big organization, I think there must be a story behind it. I believe those "top grapplers" might have been descent or good brazilian dudes. Guys like wander Braga or something. Or maybe it was just one of his seminars, there must be some info about this. I don't think it's all BS.

Video Footage
While unrelated to this particular claim. I do have footage of Rickson tapping something like 15 guys in a row at a seminar. It was a home video, and the guy holding the camera commented that Rickson had been at it for an hour or so with these (and many more) guys.
This comes from a while back, while he still had his long surfer-dude hairdo. Regardless though, I think it might add some substance to (if not account for) this recent story.
At the bottom of it all though, it is without a doubt that Rickson has skills way beyond what people normally give him credit for. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually did pull off a stunt like that in Brazil. Hell, I rolled with one of his private students once (then a BLUE belt) who at 5 foot 5 honestly felt like a 300 pound anaconda.

I heard the same thing when I was in Rio (from Alexandre Paiva among others). Rickson grappled with the best BJJ fighters in Brazil and submitted them all (one after another).
Since Rickson is like a God in Brazil, the story might actually be true. How can you possibly win if you believe that your opponent is "the God of BJJ"? Obviously, Rickson has a major psychological advantage when fighting people who know who he is and what he has done in the past.

shooto, its true, I'm sure he's won matches on his reputation alone. Maybe some guys just completely saw themselves being tapped, and screwed up any chance they had of doing well. But, not everyone folds under pressure like that. And I'm sure he has encountered many people who, because was about to grapple rickson, "turned" it up and gave it their all. The seminar we(friends) went to, I know I tried my best. I wasn’t thinking of getting tapped at all. I was just focusing on lasting, moving, and trying things. If I successfully did this, I think others have also.
btw, you know who he is, and what he has done, how do you anticipate you would hold out(psychologically) against him? You might do better than you think.
