  • Anger Management and the Martial Arts

How many feel it gives you more control of your anger?

How many feel the martial arts have made no change in your anger?

How many feel because of your ability in the martial arts causes more anger when disrespect?

  • #2
Finally an intelligent question on the forum for the young and dumb and no one can answer it?
All I see are the hypothetical sensational crap mauled over; I guess this forum has gone down the tube from the hay days of the late 90's people.

I wasn't particulary angry to begin with, so it doesn't apply to me. However, you sound kinda angry, so why don't you tell us what you think?

It's not a hypothetical young cum, it's about your life and anger as I can see from your inability to not answering the question maybe because of your small brain being choked out by pink belts

I haven't been on this board in almost 2 years but ...what...the...hell... do some of the people who post obscene and rude comments on here actually have the gall to call themselves "martial artists"?

I don't care if you can kick everyone's ass.

You are NOT a martial artist, you are a ANIMAL, below human dignity, only capable of hurting others and not contributing to the betterment of society in anyway. You are merely a detriment, and a gladiator whose sole purpose is the entertainment of others. Though you seek power and control in mastering the arts of inflicting hurt and pain unto others you ultimately become the playtoys of the truly powerful. Pathetic, really I tell you... wouldn't you much rather be a martial artist than a raging animal on a leash?

Answer your own question, how does it make you feel?

I feel less angry, I get all my frustrations out doing bag work and sparring.

It's not just asian and modern MA, boxing and wrestling, in fact sports in general have had documented positive effects on controlling aggression in trouble youth.

Don't you remember the Movie "Train" the quote "You're an Animal" "No worse, Human"

i'd say the third one.when i feel dissed i have an immediete rage buildup and i want to release it.i despise that situation.work gets so frustrating.i wish there were heavy bags all around the workplace.i'd be venting every 10-15 minutes during the day,i think.
if i worked in a warehouse or a factory i probably could hang a bag up somewhere,or i could do some moves here and there throughout the warehouse or factory compunds.when i worked at wallmart i got to do kick moves when i would go back in the warehouse(the back of the store).
i remember how alive it made me feel to vent or just stay motivated towards martialartshood.i had alot more energy then cause i was on my feet all day stocking shelves, going in the warehouse and sneaking in some brief practice drills.(usually 1/2-1 minute).i'd do this type of thing like 10-12x during the day so i got in some good practice and venting time.
probably the security cameras got in on some of my practice time.they never said anything to me though.most of the workers including the security people seemed pretty cool to me.i did not like the job very much overall and eventually departed after 6 months of employment there.
now i'm a beverage merchandiser and i hardly ever get to practice my gung fu kicks.it gets so frustrating at times.too many times.i despise rockland county with it's oftentimes unbearable traffic.i sit for too long of a period, going there and coming back home.i despise that part greatly.i play my music of course, while driving, but the stores that i pack out at have really crappy lame music.i want to practice my gung fu moves every 45 minutes of the day like i averaged at wallmart.with wallmart it was either in the restroom or the warehouse that i'd do the brief gung fu kicking practice sessions.they had theraputic benefits.they controlled my inner rage greatly.i did not feel the angst and disgust that i've been feeling since i started with the beverage company 8 months ago.
i make halfway decent money there so that's what's been keeping me there but at the same time i want to utilize my martial arts into benefitting my life into a much less angstfull and frustrating one.

I think your right about someone showing disrespect to you as the one that locks my jaws the most because they don't have a clue what you know or they do some smart ass thing or remark they think will back them up till they get palmed to the solar plexus on there ass and then look up like a deer just before a truck runs them over.
Being acknowledged and respected without the martial art is a major human need.
