In bjj competition are you allowed to use pressure points? In my tkd schools we do grappling training with the only rule being no eye gouges or strikes other then that anything goes you can pull hair, pinch or anything else you want. I regularly use pressure points to get out of holds or even submit opponents. What are your thoughts on pressure points in grappling.

I've asked this question before and here is what I was told. Pressure points are a good way to piss off the other guy.
In BJJ tournaments, I have never seen any rules against using them. But I was never taught pressure points in BJJ, only in Hapkido. But to use a pressure point you have to give up your arm/hand, you would have to be very careful not to get submitted yourself. When we practice pressure points in HKD I see lots of chances to apply armbars and triangles. I don't think TKD pressure points would be any different.
Sean, do they teach pressure points for sport bjj at your school?
