  • Pride's New Years eve lineup

As usual from our friends at www.wrestlingobserver.com

--Nobuhiko Takada announced the entire Pride line-up for Wednesday (late Tuesday U.S. time) on a Fuji Network special earlier today:
    *Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Quinton Jackson
*Heath Herring vs. Giant Silva (Oddities, EMLL guy who is a legit 7-3 and 450 pounds and God knows what they'll bill him as, so Pride vs. K-1 has the battle of the Giant Silvas as well)
    *Daijyu Takase vs. Hayato Sakurai
    *Akira Shoji vs. Murilo Ninja
    *Hidehiko Yoshida vs. Royce Gracie
    *Don Frye vs. Gary Goodridge
*Wataru Sakata vs. Daniel (replacing Ryan) Gracie
    *Yuki Kondo vs. Mario Sperry
*Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Ronnie Sefo (Ray's brother and that's all I know about him)
*Kazushi Sakuraba vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (twin brother of the famous one, but a damn good fighter in his own right)

Now, are they not showing the Gracie fight on the pay per view?

I was under the assumption this was on ppv (it's not)
I'm anxious to hear how the Yoshida/Royce Gracie match goes. (I predict a Yoshida win here)

Although for nhb/mixed martial arts fans there will be the 10 year history (like a best of UFC) that night night to look forward to.

That was something I read when the fight was first announced. I hope I'm wrong. It should be a good fight to see.

          Pride results

When I'm wrong, I admit it.
Yoshida fans, read it & weap.

          PRIDE SP
Quinton Jackson b Ikuhisa Minowa via ref stoppage in round two
Heath Herring b Giant Silva - choke at 3:05 of round three.
Hayato Sakurai b Daijyu Takase via decision.
Murilo Ninja b Akira Shoji with a high knee in the first round
Goldberg and Naoya Ogawa had a pull-apart in a big angle for 1/4
Royce Gracie drew Hidehiko Yoshida. Gracie dominated and would have won the decision. First round even, second definitely went to Royce. Royce screwed himself by demanding no judges.
Gary Goodridge b Don Frye in :39 with high kick. People were stunned by this, because people in Japan don't know how badly beaten up Frye is.
Daniel Gracie b Wataru Sakata with an armbar
Yuki Kondo b Mario Sperry via blood stoppage after knees
Kiyoshi Tamura b Ronny Sefo by armbar in first round
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira b Kazushi Sakuraba via unanimous decision in an exciting match
