Frank Cucci has a school in Virginia Beach called Lynx Academy. They do Muay Thai, Boxing, JKD, and Kali I think, They do not spar though. There is also a MMA gym on Virginia Beach Blvd. It just opened a few months ago so I don't even know if it made it or not. It is also in Virginia Beach.

      Good luck.

                CKD,

We are in Herndon off the Dulles Toll Road.

Classes in BJJ (Under Pedro Sauer), Muay Thai, Judo. We also have a MMA class which combines Kyokushin Karate, Some Muay Thai, BJJ & Judo.

This is where Khun Kao teaches Muay Thai (He's in most of the Muay Thai pictures on the site)

The mma class seems interesting. You should feel proud it is one of the few mma systems that teach knife and gun defense. It seems like the only mma class in my area so I will defenitely check it out. What are the costs do they charge monthly? Been looking to get back into mma, getting tired of all these "reality self defense" arts like senshido claiming they can take in a BJJ dude with the Shredder.

It is a pretty cool class, I like the variety. The knife and gun defense is from our Sensei's background in Hisardut which is one of the subsets of LOTAR like Krav Maga. (I think that is how they are related). He has talked about integrating some of the Knife Offense from the LOTAR class in as well.

They have 1 month, 6 month & 12 month rates, for just the MMA class it is under $100/month, They also have deals where if you take one class you get a discount in another i.e. MMA & Judo, or Jiu-Jitsu, and one rate where you can take every class that is offered, if you had the time you could go to 2-3 different classes a night 7 days a week. You can come out for a few classes for free if you want to check it out, you just have to sign a waiver.

                    See you there.

Thanks dallesit. Probaly check it out in 2 weeks or so. Always a fan of mixed martial arts, especially ones that incorperate weapons defenses. Since those types are among the minority.
