I saw your post on MartialTalk and the responses to it. All I can say is Bravo!
You did several things you should be proud of:
1) You approached Kenpo with an open mind and you questioned basic Kenpo assumptions
2) You stood up to the Kenpo Reactionaries who respond to every criticism with the cry of "you don't really understand Kenpo."
Kenpo has a lot of really good stuff in it. But it is not perfect and it is not modern. You asked the right questions, evaluated the information, weighed your options, and made a decision that is right for you.
