  • Roll out of takedown then downward elbows, what style is it from?

Bit of a strange title I know...

I have a clip of UFC knockouts and the first one goes like this:

Guy 1 goes for a takedown (probably double leg but I have little expirience with such moves)
Guy 2 roll and has guy 1s right arm trapped beteen his legs (I beleive its called an omo plata), I think guy 1s other arm is being grabbed.
Guy 1 is defenceless and unable to move
Guy 2 downward elbows him in the head 8 times (he looked knocked out after the first 2... ).

Id just like to know whether he learned that move (in which case, where did he learn it?) or made it up on the spot.

I THINK that was Gary Goodridge who was doing the elbowing in that clip. I don't know if he improvised that move or trained it, but it was insanely effective.

BJJ guys are taught to do something similiar. There's instances where you will trap their free arm between your legs while you try to keylock the other arm. Atleast I think that's the position mata-leao was describing.

If you are refering to Goodrich, then what I think you saw was the little guy going for a crucifix that cranks the neck.He was way too small to get this on Goodrich and ended up getting elbows.
