  • Have you seen the next SHOOTO card????

If you guys can take time away from politics and stroke-material, click this:

It only has fights like Uno - Sato, "Braddah" Cooper - Cook, and an obscure TRIGG - SAKURAI (!!!) matchup!!!

If you guys can't talk NHB now... then I may have to tap out.

Now that's a bad ass card!!!!

The Japanese have ignored my signature and now they'll pay the price. Triggs over Mach Sak by stoppage. Where was a BJJ matchup when they needed it?

I'll also go with Sato over Uno. How does Uno win when he looks like such a wuss????

I think Sato can take out Uno in this rematch......last time he pretty much dominated until he gassed....I think this time he WONT gas

Trigg over Mach by TKO....you heard it here 1st....Trigg is gonna ground and pound

What the heck are you doing EJ, posting an NHB-related thread? Man, December is gonna be a good month, with Pride, UFC, and this Shooto card. Uno-Sato 1 was one of the greatest fights I've ever seen, and the rematch should be nuts. I'll pick Sato in round 2, and go against the grain with Sakurai over Trigg by KO (kick to the head).

PS Where'd the Blazing Saddles sig go?

Exellent card also including the great fighter Alexandre Franca "paqueno" Nogeira, the master of the guilotine.

Good to see Luta livre fighter Marcio Cromada on the card who also trains with Nogeira in his second nhb fight, his first fight was a major upset when he choked out Uno unconsious.

Also Mamuro on the card, good fighter remember he KOed Baret Yoshida.

              Cooter....

In order to "save" this place I am trying to post NHB / BJJ shit... so I needed a hard core sig to replace that beauty from Sheriff Bart.

Off-topic is only fun in on-topic threads, and only in small doses.

                  re: fil's comments

"Pequeno" and Cromado busted a couple of guilotine variations on Uno and another SHOOTO cat.

                  It's called the "10 FINGERS".

I grabbed a training partner and we figgered this variation out... it goes in deep and works damned fast.

Mamuro is a bad ass muther also. I still haven't seen that fight but I hear he has some MISSION IMPOSSIBLE escape skills.

Baret is a future SHOOTO champion.

Thanks for the offer BB... but I already pre-ordered these videos... If Doodie tries to charge me more than $15, I will heelhook him.

It doesn't even seem to matter to Nogueira whether the off arm is inside the hold (a gravitas) or not, he still puts people like Asahi and Tatsumi to sleep with it. It is the most fearsome finish in MMA IMO, because guys know it's coming, but they can't do anything about it! If you can't out-strike Nogueria, you're in deep doodie because he's gonna catch you when you shoot in on him.

Trigg vs Sakurai is going to be great but the RAW team has not said it is signed yet, so nothing is for sure.

Hopefully RAW can come to an agreement but shooto doesnt pay foreigners well in comparisn to other Japaneese MMA events, for example Michael Bell got paid a measely $1600 to fight Sato in shooto, of course considering he didnt last very long I guess he got paid alot for such little time in the ring. Trigg vs Sakurai was suppose to happen previously in shooto but RAW said they were offered an unreasonable amount.

Note that the Vale Tudo Japan series will no longer be held instead a major shooto card such as this one will be held each year. Their is no longer any major MMA event that has a DRAW if the match goes the time limit.

I cant beleive the Alexandre Nogeira has so many wins against experienced fighters using a guilotine. I wrote that tecnique off as only usefull against newcomers in MMA or a rare fluke finish against proven fighters, I guess I was wrong. Its like Sakuraba using the kimura efectivly its a bit shocking. Its nice to see low percentage moves making a comeback in MMA.

                          hehehe...

After dikking around with that guilotine with my training partner, another guy I trained with, Betiss Mansouri, used one to finish Adrian Serrano at the last KOTC. Serrano has been kayoed.... rarely submitted, and I am sure he knows G'tine defenses.

This card is only a week and change away... RAW & SHOOTO had best move quickly.

The contract has just been signed and Trigg will be leaving for Japan tomorow.

I really hope Sakurai/Trigg happens. AFAIK both he and Sato have never faced ground 'n pound style wrestlers before, so I'm a little curious if they can manage to pull out a win. Trigg is even better, because he's the wrestler who seems to have the most dimensions (at least he and Van Arsdale do).
If Sakurai pull this out, I REALLY hope that someone puts up the $$$ for a fight with Militich.
I'm going to go out on a limb and pick Sakurai via chicken wing/hammerlock/keylock/kimura/whatever you wanna call it from a transition off of a takedown. I've watched lots of wrestler fights, and they always seem really eager to get a base under them after a takedown. I think that if someone would actually go for a basic hammerlock immediately - there's a good shot of it working. Sakurai and Sato are good at exploiting weaknesses and going for submissions quickly - so perhaps he'll be the man to go for it.
As for Sato/Uno 2, I think Sato will win this one. Last time he knew he'd have a tough night, but I don't think anyone thought Uno would have the will to win that he had. This time Sato will be ready, and he won't fade late in the fight. He won't submit Uno, but he'll get the decision.
