  • Red Nose Gi?

    Hi,
has anyone got/tried a Red Nose Gi what are they like?
Are they ok for competition or just training.
What are they like compared to a HCK or Gameness?

    Cheers for any info

I got one. Here is a review I posted elsewhere. I've only worn it a couple of times so I can't attest to how well it lasts.
I just recieved my rednose gi. Thought you might want some comments. I have been wearing a traditional Judo gi for a few years now and decided to make the move to a BJJ gi. I chose rednose frankly because of the cost. It was on sale for 60 dollars. When the gi arrived I was pleasantly suprised. Right out of the box I could tell this gi was quality. The cotton was very soft even without washing. By soft I don't mean thin and cheap. You could just tell that this was a superior grade. I am used to more expensive uniforms simply using a thicker and coarser canvas for their premium gis. With the rednose the gi is certainly thick enough, but the cotton is very soft and suple to the touch. I imagine with a few washings this will become even more so. Every seam on the gi is tripple stitched. The pants fit more like a real pair of pants, slim in the leg and form fitting in the crotch. The knees are double reinforced from mid thigh all the way to the ankle. The side vents as well as the upper butt area are also double reinforced. These are the best fitting gi pants I have ever owned. The top is also form fitting. It is not baggy like traditional Judo tops. It does however offer plenty of room for movement. The colar is very thick, but because of the softness of the cotton it is not scratchy or iritating to the neck. All seams are tripple sewn. There is a reinforcing band that wraps around mid-torso to help prevent the gi top from stretching when pulled on.. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is that I wish the sleves would taper a bit more towards the wrists. They arent baggy by any means, but would benifit from a narrower cuff. The gi is attractive. It has a black band with the rednose logo that wraps around the bottom of the gi top. The rednose logo is embroidered into the bottom of the pants leg as well as the back of the gi jacket.

Oh, I ordered it on monday and it arrived on friday same week.

Washed about 10 times. Almost no shrinking at all. Makes me wonder if they aren't pre shrunk.

No, I put it in the dryer every time. I use High heat. No problem. Very minimal shrinkage.
