Every BJJ instructor teaches differently? right
So what does BJJ really teaches?

I've seen some video clips and saw Royce Gracie got it really bad from this Japanese guy, the japanese guy was extremely fast and a striker, does BJJ lack strikes?

Do you mean Sakuraba? No one else has beat him. But Sakuraba is defenitely not a striker, he is a world class submission specialist. He gave Sakuraba a extremely hard fight but had to drop out because a foot he was having problems with before broke during the match. Royce actually showed off his striking ability that match. Throwing many strikes to set up a takedown. Sakuraba obviously had an advantage because of his size difference in striking ability.
