Pretty much all the people you mentioned study bjj. They knew enouph not to get killed by there opponents. Capoeria actually is a pretty good style. At least the real ones but most practice the dance thing. Blackbelt has had some good interviews with the Gracies and some good articles on bjj but the tma stuff they show is the stuff of the mcdojos.

There have been lots of times bjj fighters have been beaten by non-bjj techniques.

Mr. Miyagi Thank you!!!. This was the only point I was trying to make that it is silly for someone to state "Only BJJ can Beat BJJ" it sound like only a Ninja can beat a Ninja. Just becuase BJJ has been beat does not lessen its effectiveness or value as a powerful grappling style

Hi Nick, the incidents I was refering to were not sanctioned fights these were street fights. I don't want to get into names and dojos and locations becuase it really is not important, I was trying to make a point. I will say that both started as a result of talking shit by the BJJ (but only one was about style vs style) and in both cases they got thier asses handed to them. Infact one filed a police report for assault (which I personally thought was a wuss move). I can't tell you what techniques the Goju ryu stylist used but I do know it was Okinowan Goju Ryu and the guy was not a BB just under (Brown or red whatever is before BB).
