  • Good Training Gloves (again?!)

First off, I apologize if you guys are sick of answering this question, but I've searched the forums about this, and I just need some more information.

I'm looking for a good MMA style training glove with a good amount of padding, so I don't lose friends/training partners when sparring. I don't do much BJJ, but I fully intend on getting back into it (Cobra Kai Jiu Jitsu). But in the mean time, I want a good glove that I can use for striking and grabbing (not quite grappling yet, but soon). I've got a pair of Kikskin 8oz gloves, and the dense gel is far too tough to use for a regular training session. I've also checked out the Century MMA gloves (the new open palm ones that come in leather, or the multi-colored cheaper stuff), and the padding is really a joke. It's like the padding is already worn thin before they put them in the glove.

I've also checked out a pair of the Harbinger wrist wrap gloves, and the padding on those seems to be very good for what I'm looking for, but to spend $50+ on a pair of gloves that I have to modify so much (remove the palm bar, thumb, back hand/wrist pad, etc) seems excessive.

I'm curious about the amount of padding on gloves like the Ouano UFC (which I'm guessing had less padding than the Harbingers, being for competition and not training and all), NAGAs MMA glove, Ultimate MMA gloves and anything else you guys could probably suggest.

Basically I would like a little more padding than the Harbinger's have, but I'd be fine with that amount if there were no other options. So something better suited for training and not competition. Also, We're not striking full force...just enough to get a good solid tag on someone (attention grabber) and let them know that they probably would have eaten a good solid shot...without leaving little knuckle bruises.

    Thanks in advance, guys.

If you are looking for a glove with more padding than the gel gloves check our Pride style one.

You may also want to check out the official Shooto gloves made by Ouano. They have more padding than the UFC gloves. I believe it is on his website - www.ouano.com.
