Silva not being tested in a while doesn't change the fact that Yoshida put up a good fight does it? Satake is quite a good fighter and is quite skilled. I never get this Sakuraba "played" with Royce. Sakuraba always tries to do entertaining things in his fight but that doesn't mean his opponents are nothing to him. If Royce was that easy to beat than Sak would have beat him earlier. But instead Sakuraba was so tired that he could barely do anything in his fight. Yoshida has not worked any fights. I have met him and he is way to honerable to do that.

      1) if you haven't been tested in a while you tend to become stagnant and lazy. you rest on yer laurels.

      2) satake is an adequte fighter. he's not that good. he wasn't even top five when he cocentrated on kickboxing in K-1.

      3) sak won his fight against royce and was at no point in danger..... bottom line.

      4) sak was so tired he could barely do anything!? he took igor down with a single leg!! igor has proven that he's not easy to take down. hell kerr had trouble doing it.

      5) how do you know he's never worked a fight?? it wouldn't be the first time PRIDE has had works.

Yes Sakuraba took Vochancyn down, and then became so tired that Igor just started pounding on him while he could do barely anything. Even the commentators commented on the fact that Sakuraba was extremely tired. Yoshida has come the closest to beating Silva in a while, after Cro Crop and Henderson. Silva was obviously sharp and not stagnant and lazy judging by how well he did against Quinton Jackson.

the point it sak took down igor who is notoriously difficult to takedown. like i said even kerr, who is probably the best takedown artist (shoot-wise) to ever fight NHB had problems taking igor down. and look at the size diffrence.... a shot from igor is gonna drain anyones endurance!!

Quinton Jackson had a much more difficult road to the finals than silva did. and i still don't think jackson has reached his peak yet. i don't think he has what it takes to beat silva yet.

People can get caught by suprise even Igor. Sperry also took Igor down. But look at the end of the fight, Sakuraba was wasted and turtled and up and Igor just punded on him.

This could well be the most pointless thread on this or any other board.

If this then that, if that then this. Wha a load of cack.

Sataake is a poser. He comes out every time with attitude and is known for his 'standup', but then he's gotten the crap beat out of him every time I've seen him.

Yoshida took Silva down and was on top of him. But he was never close to beating him, he had nothing on him.

Ken's comeback, well, let's see. His first fight was against Otsuka in PRIDE. Otsuka is not a top fighter and weighs a good 15-20 lbs less than Ken. Ken KO'd him, but it wasn't a very big accomplishment.
Then he comes back and fights Fujita. He punches his hard head a few times and quits because he's tired. Very lame for a seasoned pro who should have trained enough cardio to at least fight one round.
Then he got tooled by Frye.
Then he got tooled by Tito.
Then he KO's Kimo, who hasn't really proved anything in MMA (please don't bring up that worked fight against Sak). Kimo has beaten Paul Varelans and Tank. Victories over those guys aren't exactly unchartered territory.
Ken's comeback actually hasn't been that glorious and I don't even think his career was that glorious. The UFC marketed him because they liked the way he looked in his speedos.

After an hour and a half with Royce, Saku took Igor down twice. He was active in that fight, attempting to pass guard, and even going for a crazy armbar. He escaped from the turtle position after the botched armbar attempt and got back up, and took Igor down the second time. The judges, very fairly, decided the fight was even and asked for a second round. That's when Saku quit. Coleman won the GP, but most knowledgable people agree that Sak was the hero of that tournament. What would Royce have done against Igor V?

If Shamrock wants to diss Royce, he's gonna have to come see me first, cos I won't put up with someone dissin' my boy Royce.

Yes, this thread seems to be going nowhere fast.

i would hardly say that ken got "tooled" by frye. yes he got beat and almost KO'd by frye but ken also almost fucked frye's legs up with heelhooks. the only thing that saved frye was the exuberant amount of tape (which some said was damn near like a cast) on his ankles. as for tito ken was fighting with an injured acl (notice that lack of lateral movement by ken) and still rocked tito pretty good in the 1st round. yes ken's comeback isn't exactly spectacular (what do you expect at his age) but it's better than royce's. and yes by today's standards his early career wasn't much either (and i know everyone likes to point out he never won a UFC tournament) but he beat everyone worth beating at the time (both UFC $ pancrase before moving on to WWF.
