i just had my first class on grappling (or submission fighting as they call it at my school) and holy moly! i learned hella!! i've been training in KB since january, and i've always thought i'd be toast if somebody ever got me into a clinch and on the ground, 'cause i have no idea what to do. rollover and die? just kidding. i weigh about a buck ten, so i'm always careful not to get grabbed so i don't get thrown around. but now, i think with more grappling training, i wouldn't be as intimidated. i can see where familiarity with this fighting style would be a huge advantage, especially with small joint manipulation, since it doesn't seem to require as much strength. what do u guys think?

sorry, not clear wording on my part.

as much strength as i would have expected groundfighting to take. meaning, even a little person, like me, could get somebody off me by knowing a little bit about this style. this change of mindset is exciting to me. i had always thought that if taken to the ground, i would be incapacitated by brute strength of whomever my opponent would be.

All well and good, but don't fool yourself into believing that size and strength don't remain a very significant factor.
