Jedi learn with Sonnon

Heres some bullshit for you. In the new Star Wars book the author studied with Scott Sonnon in order to learn his "body flow" and "softwork" stuff then rewrote star wars so that its what the Jedi learn in their "temple". Its a joke that Shonnon decided to do. He is a pretty funny guy from what I heard and he seems really funny in some of his posts on mma.tv But the book is actually a nice fitness book from what I am told. But just out of curiosity why is every post you have posted trying to trash Shonnon. I haven't done major training with the guy but I know enouph to know he is the real deal. It seems you are all pissed off at him because you didn't understand his explanation of ROSS when you posted at his forum. You haven't trained with the guy or have done any ROSS. You haven't even gone to any of his seminars, watched his videos, or even read any books about ROSS. You just look at his website see something called softwork and go off and make fun of it despite not knowing what it means. Even in that advertisement I couldn't find anything about Shonnon saying he was a jedi master or anything else and it is suppossedly a joke they did for the book. Many mma fighters have adopted ROSS. Elvis Sisonic has said he is a convert. The principles that ROSS uses for striking is implemented by the Russian National boxing team and Fedor. I would suggest you go to a seminar or class before making further judgement.

What is ROSS??

ROSS is a Russian Martial System. It is not like most traditional Martial Arts that are codified into techniques and then regurgitated and learned. ROSS is about remembering how your body was created to move, about biomechanical efficiency and doing more when you may have less. ROSS allows you to see that some things are true in so many styles of MA's and they are true in ROSS, but gives you the science of it, the mechanics of why. While some styles build attributes in what if techniques and sets, ROSS uses tools such as softwork to build attributes and tactile sensitivity in an "Even if" setting. ROSS is very 3 dimensional, and if you like your other 2 dimensional techniques, it's still your everything in between, your flow.

Fedor does throw some unorthodox punches, and he DESTROYS people with them. If that's ROSS methodology, then I'd be interesting in learning at least that aspect of it.

It doesn't matter one damn bit that UFC guys like Arlovski, Inoue and Sinosic all train with Sonnon's system. Give me a BREAK! These guys are already elite athletes. Don't try and tell me that Sonnon hasn't bought these guys. The guy lives in a phukin mansion on a cliff from gouging people with the prices of his certifications, seminars and equipment. Have you SEEN the pix of this guy flaunting the bank he makes with his BMWs and Mercs? He's a bodybuilding pro wrestler plain and simple. Please tell me your not fallin for this shit. You make these claims. But how about you show me some proof? Come on how about it? No he has not bought these guys and if you think mma guys do not need good coaches, then you are not very inteligent. Also how about you train with the guy once? You are just an internet troll you talk bad stuff about him through the net but how about you criticize him face to face. Oh yes such expensive certificates You don't pay for those you know. They are awarded the instructor levels there is no cost. How can you make all these claims, you don't no anything about the guy! You have never trained with him or got a single bit of his material. I don't know how anyone who has never experienced ROSS can call it bullshit or call Scott a fake. My trainer and friend, Robert Metz is a friend and student of Sonnon. He gladly puts out the money to attend seminars and workshops and reaps bountifully from them, then comes back and shares his knowledge with me. He will be attending the Softwork seminar in October. I am so excited to see what he comes back with. He himself is planning his own seminars for next year with Scott. I have experienced ROSS, and it was with NO prior Martial Arts experience. The learning curve is low because it utilizes biomechanical efficiency. I don't have to memorize and regurgitate techniques ad naseum until I achieve a flow. I can move the way my body was made to move, remember with tactile sensitivity, and just feel my way through our softwork. It's awsome! I am learning Kenpo now as well, but ROSS doesn't need Kenpo, ROSS doesnt need the Kali pieces like Hubud drills that we use to train either, but we like it, and see the usefulness of Kenpo's structure, and some attributes that we build using Kali as well. But those things really get kicked up with ROSS! You laugh because you don't understand, but if you experienced it, you would know it, and you wouldn't look at things the same way again. I'm very blessed to have been introduced to ROSS before any other martial art.

and further more, If I was able to meet the prerequesites for the October Softwork seminar, I would fork out the 800 clams in a heartbeat and go to that with my trainer. I have only studied in ROSS since 20 July, so you can bet that in the future, as I have caught up to Bob and read some of Scott's material and really have become stronger in ROSS, I will be right there at those seminars with him.

Okay, well...After some deliberation I decided that since I don't know you, and you don't know me. I don't have anything to prove by getting into a pissing contest with you. Have you trained with him? No. Do you know what ROSS is? No. Do you know anything about him? No. Have you even bought his products? No. How about you back up your claims also. I asked you for some validity on your claims as I tore down yours and you haven't answered it. You just call the people worshippers of the guy. But do you back up the claims you make? Like how he is rich, making up stories about mma fights, paid people to endorse his product and that his teaching is useless. You haven't came up with any proof for these claims. People have invited you to seminars and classes but you don't accept. At least these people have trained ROSS and are qualified to comment on it. I trained it and I can make some opinions. You have not. You just run to a different forum everytime people suggest you go to a seminar or tell you to back up your claims.
