Can anyone give us the scoop on what went on this past weekend at Scott's Softwork seminar?

    A great experience

We really had a great experience James. Learned alot about softwork, did alot of softwork. Worked on finding my own way of martial movement and my own mastery, and best of all free from the bindings of traditional technique and codification. I met alot of great people and was honored to have worked with them. Scott is a great coach! It was an honor and a privilege to attend his seminar. That's me wrapping it up in a great big general comment, there is just to much to try to put it all down. I urge you, if your interest is sincere to check out www.circularstrengthmag.com and there you will find better answers to your curiosity than you will find here. this here is not a place full of people who get what rmax is about. You will find all sorts of people who do get it if you go check out the forum at rmax. And believe me, there are TONS of posts about the seminar. We're all still really jazzed.

I took tons of pics of me and some friends doing softwork, some of us just relaxing and having some fun. No vid allowed, there was however a film crew, and it is yet unknown if it will be available for sale. Keep an eye out on the general discussion part of the tribal forum or watch cst mag, and I am sure Coach Sonnon will let us know if or when the video is available. He's asked us if we want the video, and so far the answer is a resounding "YES"!! So, hope thats a good indicator.

Yeah, I was there too. It was nice to meet/work you, D! It was fun working the knife drills with you.

Scott just announced that RMAX is looking at putting together a DVD to give folks a taste of what Softwork is about, though I have doubts it will really capture the experience completely. However, it should be an eye-opener for those who have experienced Scott's other materials. It was a great experience that I hope will be repeated with more people in future seminars.

I'm looking forward to seeing the dvd and being able to observe on an outside view, also using it as a reenforcement tool, much like good note taking in class. All I've ever experienced is Scott's materials, usualy always coached through my training partner, a certified CST instructor. So, I don't know how anyone else would percieve it all really, I havn't been exposed to anything other than this.

My bone headed little brothers like to do alot of playing around type of grappling and we get into some rounds of hardwork, They don't understand anything I try to show them about softwork, they only understand wrestling and boxing (if you looked up tension and density in the dictionary there would be my 2 little brothers photos) and I can imagine that they wouldn't know softwork if the dvd of the seminar flew through the window and smacked them in the head. However, they are quite curiouse as to why they can't keep Desi pinned down and get any submissions out of big sister. Perhaps for the same reason I can't keep my 1 year old son in one spot when I want to hold him somwhere.

Yeah, I saw the pics! I only have a couple of my own, so it's really cool to see so many taken by others.

I'm glad to hear that you are confounding your brothers. *grin* Keep it up and they may eventually realize that maybe there is something of potential use in that weird "Softwork" concept.
