I'm surprised that Tito defeated Kondo so quickly, and by submission at that! He must have gotten 100x better since the Frank Sham fight. It's too bad that losses are like a stigma that follows you around since he could also be considered a possible #1 mw at this point. It's also too bad that he comes in weighing 215 for his fights.

Damn, looks like none of the Japanese fighters have won. I wanted Kondo to win dammnit! And didnt tito promise to KO Kondo as well?

          Some notes:

Frank Shamrock made a public anouncement in the octagon that he is back and will fight all challengers... though he did not confirm if he was back in the UFC just that he will be an active fighter next year.

Wallid Ismael was stirring up trouble, telling the Japanese press at the UFC that Ryan Gracie is weak and lied about his 500-0 streetfight wins showing the press a Brazilian newspaper article about him defeating Ryan Gracie in a club. Their is a possiability that he may fight in the UFC (Japan?) again.

Miletich had his ankle broken in his fight.

              - Tito is getting scary. Right now he is my #2 Middleweight, after Sak.

              - I am VERY surprised that Hughes got beat. He was my #1 Lightweight. Now, I guess I would say the winner of the Trigg/Sakurai fight is #1.

              - Gibson is not that bad. Tanner is that good. I would call him a Top 5 Middleweight.

              - Liddell is very tough and under-rated. Approaching the Top 10.

As I said awhile back, Tito is da man.
Frank got lucky. If they ever fight again, Tito will not give up... he had him beaten the first fight IMO.

One of the best UFC's in a while... and they havent been too bad lately.

Hallman vs. Hughes was awesome. Hallman has his number.

                  Millitich looked pissed.

Kondo floored Tito with a flying knee... then Tito got pissed.

Iha looked good, but Takase is poor competition.

Liddell is a good wrestler... he thoroughly frustrated all of Monsen's shots.

                  Tanner is a force.

Lindland looked good against a inferior opponent.

                  The alternate match was boring.

                    Great UFC.
Like most of you have said, the middleweight division is stacked! Sak, Frank, Tito, Tanner, Liddel and of course tons of Gracies. Even though some of those names will not show up in the octagon I am looking forward to an Ortiz v. winner of Tanner/Liddel fight! I think that would be great!

I thought it was great to see former US Senator and present Ambassador to Japan Tom Foley in attendance. It would be great to see MMA competition presented as a good-faith cultural exchange between the US, Brazil, and Japan when it comes to political support for MMA, the debate over which has subsided, but which is still relevant to our being able to continue to watch these things!
