  • ian freeman loses on tko against Bob Schreiber

    Richard Plug vs Mark Gottenkieney

A Freefight which was won by Plug after 4 minutes of the first round with a neck crank.

Gerald Mamadeus fought Muay Thai vs Chris van Venrooy.

It ended in the first round. Mamadeus was cut above the left eye and the docter stopped the fight. Was it a head butt? Mamadeus gestured so but the referee did not see it, so van Venrooy won by TKO.

Sander McKillian won a Freefight from Michael Krom in the first round with an ankle lock

Remy Bonjaski Muay Thai vs Peter Vargas.

Bonjaski winner by KO in the first round. Vargas went down for eight on a roundhouse kick to the body and after that he received a flying knee and went down for the full count.

Stjepan Veselic Muya Thai vs Carpin

Carpin winner by fist KO in the first round. He brought Veselic for the first time for eight counts to the canvas with a combination of punches. After the fight continued he delivered an enourmous hook and Veselic wet heavy KO.

    Jerrel Venetiaan vs Valentijn Overeem

Freefight but without rope escapes. Overeem shooted right away and took the fight to the ground. He applied an ankle lock but Venetiaan managed to roll under the ropes and this prevented him from tapping off. It was just a delay of execution because immediately after they stood Valentijn brought him down again and finished the job with the same technique. In 1minute 27 seconds
After the fight Overeem challenged Bob Schreiber for the 2H2H show in march next year.

    Joeri Mes vs Gerbrand Takens.

Mes winner by KO (punch to the body) in the third round.
Nice fight to watch, althoug Takens fought brave, Mes was not a moment in problems. He was completely confident in what he was doing and proved that he was superior by finishing it with a beautiful left body shot.

Allistair Overeem Freefight vs Peter Verschuren

Although Allistair fought a few Muay Thai fights he is a grappler and Verschuren found out the hard way. The fight was just a few seconds old when the young Overeem took Verschuren down, mounted him and, tried an arm bar and a few punches to the body. Decided to try something else and applied a figure four armlock on the left arm of Peter.
He finished the fight in 1 minute 6 seconds so he beat his older brother with 21 seconds.

Patrick de Wit Freefight vs Rick Rootlieb

This was probably the fastest KO ever in Holland for any fight that took place in the ring. It lasted 2 or 3seconds. Okay, it might be 5 seconds but not longer. The referee said fight. De Wit leaned back against the ropes, catapulted himself toward Rootlieb gave two punches, Rootlieb tripped and fell backward. While he fell de Wit followed with a right kick to the head an Rootlieb was KO.

Perry Ubeda Muay Thai vs Kemal El Amrani.

A very promising first round with lots of kicking action of Ubeda. A few connected to the body and a high one lacked power and so it went on. Amrani had to take eight counts but recovered well.
The other rounds were not of the same level. If Ubeda wants to stay the crowd pleaser that he used to be in the past he should work on it. After five rounds he won on points.

Lloyd van Dams vs Alexey Ignashov

A Muay Thai fight between two heavyweights who both competed once in a K-1 pre-selection.
Lots of clinching and knees by Ignashov. An attractive fight in which the young White Russian proved to have more stamina. At the beginning of round five the fight was stopped because van Dams did not want to continue. He was dead tired. Ignashov winner.

"Terrible" Bob Schreiber vs Ian "The Mean Machine"

A Freefight between two look a likes. Those who thought that Freeman would be a piece of cake for terrible Bob were wrong. The English UFC champion took Bob down and the Dutchman could barely make a rope escape when Freeman applied an ankle lock. Those who thought that he would only try to take the fight to the ground were also dead wrong. He proved to be a complete fighter and one could almost see the surprise on Bob's face when he found out that Freeman enjoyed slugging it out just as much as he himself is famous for. Bob evened the fight when he knocked Freeman down for eight counts. The slugging continued and it was a pity that the doctor decided to stop it because Freeman was cut above the eye. This made Bob the winner by TKO, but Freeman absolutely deserves a revanche.

      TKO?

      Dutchman,

Thanks for the support my friend.

I think it is a bit unfair for the promoters to call my loss to Bob a TKO, when in fact the doctor stopped the fight due to a 1.3 centimeter cut at the side of my eye. I did not need stitches and you can hardley see the cut today. A little bit of a premiture stoppage I think.

Also, if you watch the fight again, I think that you will see that I was rocked by a shot from Bob, but not knocked down. I was a little pissed when they gave me a standing 8 count. I even told the ref I was perfectly ok.

I also spoke to Valentine Overeem and he said he had the option of NO rope escapes, of which he opted for. If I had known this, then I would of opted for the same rules, but I was never asked.

Anyhow, It proves I can stand my own with the best of strikers and I know I will rematch with Bob some day. Maybe the rules will be to a true Vale Tudo nature, and he can taste some of The Machine Ground 'N' Pound too.

          Ian,
I was at the show but i copied the story from http://www.shoto.com
          my opinion
please no rope escapes next time, and make him tap!!
I loved when you started to trade punches whit him even after the 8-count.Bob is the man who ko'ed yvel, when you got the first rope escape i thought ian is going to submitt bob and than you started punching whit, that's bobs game! so i think this outcome is litle you own fault
I dont think tko is the right word docter's intervention would be more right

            my own fault!

I hear what your saying Duchman.

I may be stupid, but I wanted to show the Dutch that Bob was not the only great striker you have in the show. I knew it would be tough, but the promoters did not want a wrestler, they wanted a stand up fight and I promised that is what they would get.

Now they will want me back and I can show you all that I am a well rounded fighter in Rotterdam. If it were not for the cut, I think I would of tired Bob and won the fight. I was getting stronger as he was getting weaker. I did not feel tired at all.

you stand with me, I will stand with you. You roll with me and I will roll with you. I don't mind either. A fight is a fight and I can do both. I am still adding new moves and fighting techniques to my arsenal, so next time I fight in Holland look out for something new to happen.

Sorry I got cut, but shit happens.

                Ian,

I'm not saying you are stupid, but there are better ways to beat bob. I know the dutch want more strikers then wrestlers. Next time i will be there to cheer for you again.

                      ian the machine

I cant believe you lost to that guy, I saw you fight Tedd Williams, that was a hell of a fight, you dominated the last 2 rounds, I put one of tedds guys 2 sleep at my last fight, What kind of bums ended the fight due to a cut, man I miss the good old days when the refs let the fights keep going

                        stuskilla,

"You can't believe I lost to that guy."

Hey, Bob is one of the best hitters Holland have, but not only that the man is a brawler and he has fought some big names in his time. Don't take him so lightly. Just check out how hard he hits and who he has knocked on their ass.

But to be honest, I feel I lost to the doctor NOT Bob Schrieber. It was cut not a knockout for pete's sake.

Ive never seen the guy fight myself ian, it's just that I saw you fight, and I felt like you were damn near unstoppable, those sissy European doctors make me sick, in Japan they would have let you continue, and I bet you would have won
