See for yourself, you may be suprised to see the results of Trigg vs Sakurai and Sato Uno....

Damn i really thought Trigg would take this. I definately didnt think he would lose by KO. I wasnt even gonna touch the Sato-Uno fight after watching how close their last fight was till the end. Nothing suprises me about those 2.

          Thanks for the links fil

Looks like Trigg should have maybe slowed down the pace after the first knockdown and taken the count instead of rushing forward. Anyways props to Sakurai he is the man.

In my book this would make Sakurai the #1 Lightweight, followed by Uno.

Uno is a little small to be ranked among lightweights, but is #1 at 155 IMO. There was a huge shake-up in the lightweight rankings this weekend, with both Trigg and Hughes losing so convincingly, and I have to agree that Sakurai should now be #1.

How about Pequeno finishing with the guillotine AGAIN? Unbelievable.

What a weekend! The #1 fighters in 6 different weight classes were (or will be tonite at Pride) in action:
                  Pequeno (140)
                  Uno (155)
                  Sakurai (170)
                  Sakuraba (185)
                  Ortiz (200)
                  Vovchanchin (> 200)

Sakurai is definatly #1 in my book in the under 170 lb, I qestioned how good he really is since he hasnt faught that many top lightwights but KOing Trigg made me a beleiver.

Dave Menne could to be considered #2, since he has been very active this year and has beaten Pele, a heavyweight Roberto Travern and Dennis Hallman and his only loss this year was Jeff Monson who is a natural heavyweight.

Uno returns to being considered by most as the #1 fighter in the 155 lb weight division but he did lose this year by being choked out by Marcio Cromada and he should of lost the judges decision to Dennis Hallman (who cut weight to fight at 155lbs) but he also has a good win submiting Din Thomas (who submited Jens Pulver) and gave Andre Pedeneiras all he could handle.

I dont get Dennis Hallman he is natuarly 165 pounds but manages to submit Hughes (twice!). I only have seen Hallman's HooknShoot fight against Paul Rodriguez where he got KOed and from seeing that fight I thought that he was going to be thrashed by Hughes. Guess I was wrong....

Hey! Dont forget their is also RINGS block B on the 22nd, which includes Carlos Barreto, Kohsaka, Ricardo Arona, Mikhail Ilukhine, Hoffman and Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira. Winners will advance to face Couture, Dave Menne, "Minotauro" Nogeira and ...I forget his name Dutch fighter in the King of Kings mega tournament early next year.

So much quality fights in such a short time, hopefully 2001 can continue with having so many of these awesome fights.

The best week in MMA ever is winding down.

                        "MACH" is the man!!!

                        Uno has Sato's number.

Cromado's loss is surprising, as is Cooper's.

The LL guys are unleashing guilotine hell on SHOOTO.
