a while back i heard that carlos newton was jumped at a party and stabbed and almost died. i heard the rodman story was as troll report and that their is supposed to be a video floating around of ralph and cesar gracie in vegas putting a beatdown on some pickpockets. but just like any other pro atheletes when you truly know that you can destroy a guy you are seldom inclined to fight unless it is an extreme case

Hey there everyone, thanks for posting some really good replies to my thread. I have just heard a new one to share with all of you. I heard a recorded interview with Randy Couture where he mentioned that a few years back he was leaving a bar quite drunk, and bumped into someones car (possibly the managers). Three bouncers attacked him - one of them had a baseball bat. Well anyway after he had disarmed the guy with the bat (he didn't elaborate whether this meant take the bat away from him or actually remove his arms..hahah) The other bouncers ran off......Comment

They story about Cesar Gracie was a little over 2 years ago. If we're speaking of the same story, I don't believe Ralph was with him (there's no telling though....These guys are notorious for being hot tempered and fighting on occasion). If it's the time I'm thinking about it was Cesar and one of his students named Gil Catillo at a casino in Lake Tahoe. A couple guys were giving them a lot of problems all night and by late that night tempers flared. From what Cesar said Gil was talking to one of the guys and had his hands in his pocket (not smart on his part) right about the time the guy was ready to swing at him. Anyway, a fight started and Cesar hit the guy talking to Gil and then immediatly turned and hit his friend who was coming on fast. Needless to say it was a quick win and a night in jail for all parties involved. The casino video was given to Cesar for evidence showing that they didn't start the altercation. I spoke with Cesar a few days after and he said it was a crazy night and that the police officer were asking for his autograph.. He said that he really wasn't in the mood, but did it anyway.
And yet another story of drunken idiots unknowingly fighting seasoned fighters.......quick finishes every time.

Hearsay....
This is total hearsay, but I recall a post about Ryan that was pretty funny. (Again, this is like 10th hand, and I read it HERE.. so who knows.)
Apparently, Ryan and company were at a Denny's type restaurant and a woman in line in front of them made a remark that she "didn't like arabs" or something to that effect. It was translated to Ryan, who (suprisingly!) dumped ketchup on her head. I don't know if this is true, but I sure hope it was. I DESPISE biggotry.

Not really funny at all. I can understand why Ryan is universally hated. As for bigots, 99% of this forum seem to have a problem with gays. I wonder how they would feel if Mark Kerr dumped a bottle of sauce on their heads.Comment

If we all came into this world by birth from a women then how could a gay be anything more then a free loader in society socially to sustain there preferences, now to the point of wanting to strain the tax payers in paying a new tax for same sex marriages?

What I find strange is that the best "martial artists" in the world can't keep themselves from losing their tempers and being "drunk" in bars.
......hmm.
And even though biggotry is disgusting in ANY way, I still don't feel assaulting a woman (even with ketchup) is necessary.

You forget that this is a rumor. I bet it isnt even true. Meanwhile Ryan Gracie's rep is sinking lower and lower. Lets reserve judgement for confirmed stories eh??? Besides, the more famous you are, the more rumors fly around.

I agree Aussie , there's nothing more interesting then to learn the subtlety of BJJ through conversation. There's a big difference between sport BJJ over no rules street fighting.
Street is so much faster and violent and has a different addition of strikes and kicks that would be closer to blood sports of the past. Getting a professional fighter stirred up out of the ring would be like letting a wild horse loose in a china shop.Comment
