you said, one came from judo, one is misspelled.

i was just wondering which one you thought came from judo, because i thought that judo was developed after jiu-jutsu. because of the downfall of the samurai.

Because the focus of the GJJ/BJJ was Newaza it had no throws. Couldn't really call it Judo if you only have a handful of nagewaza.

I still don't get it but one must admit that it has been a great marketing tool and THAT'S a fact!

In any case the "Ju" in both means the same thing...

well, if it is neither judo, or jujutsu, (or however you spell it), then why is that monkey who wrote that book or an articale so woried about calling it judo. i have an idea, lets call it....brazilian judo-jutsu? that way, it can still be abbreviated as bjj.

would you agree in saying that moder jujutsu is similar to early judo?

now i am going to go piss off a bunch of karate people.

                        Monkey?

How about because it's more than just a little dishonest to take a part of a thing and sell it as a WHOLE new something else?

I would say that BJJ is VERY similar to early KOSEN JUDO...and that's all. I'm done here...
