Do BJJ and smoking pot go hand in hand? I dont think so. Human civilation and marijuana go hand in hand. Almost anyone you meet or see has at least tried pot once. Same with drinking alcohol or using tobacco. I personally can't really stereotype people by the drugs they use. Anyone can be a really good fighter, and though they may take drugs, the drugs are definitely not improving their game. The "Greats" that you talk about would be great no matter what and smoking pot is just part of who they are.

Uh WTF!?! you had a great point until you totaly contradicted yourself with the last sentence. So it's ok to smoke pot when your great and when it's part of who you are. Thats just freakin magical!

yea so they started UFC to further show that that regular "stand-up Chuck Norris" style karate is complete joke, which it is and was further proven to be. Where are the videos of "karate" guys beating BJJ guys?
Its very very simple, the karate guys that have NO GROUND skills, have ZERO chance against a BJJ fighters, its such a non issue and complete joke to guys that train in BJJ, a good good blue would kill a black in any stand up discipline 99 outta 100 times, not to mention a purple, brown and a black LOL......I have seen it time after time after time. I tapped out judo black belts when i was a white belt (starting on our knees)

                  You're some kind of badass!

How many Judo black belts did you make tap out when you were a white belt?

That's some kind of confidence biulder but it's also PATHETIC. Those Judo guys should be demoted...

I mean a karate guy I could see being tricked by the grappling but a judo guy should not only be comfortable with Newaza, a dan grade player should easily dominate non ranked players in BJJ... It's all JUDO.

I often wish I could "roll" with you guys instead of typing posts to try to discuss this stuff, it would be so COOL if we could just do some randori to compare the similarities in our styles.

Of course I'll want to start standing if you don't mind? How's your Ukemi?

whats all Judo? BJJ is all Judo? are you retarded? Judo guys get owned on the ground, black belts included. Most BJJ is practiced starting on the knees to avoid injuries, sometimes we practice takedowns and throws, especially if a tournement is upcoming. A black in Judo is going to be very hard to take down for anyone. But get them there and they dont know shit, except one little move they all love when the get side control and dominate the arm and sit there doing nothing.
Unless theres a huge size and strenght difference, I have never seen anybody from Judo or any other discipline, and many come in, that have not gotten spanked to no end when rolling with BJJ guys, never

-If you were educated, perhaps you could have written a coherent sentence. I guess you have forgotten your 3rd grade English lesson for splitting infinitives. Im not sure what you are saying, lets break it down.....

So you will bet alot of "things"?
These "things" are bet against that I start with myself?
and these "things" are placed on my knees?

please use English moron, perhaps too many cocks in your mouth are clouding your senses

I know this may seem strange to you but back in the late seventies I started training in traditional Kodokan Judo with a little known blackbelt in the rural Okanogan County, Washington. He taught us more than just throwing techniques. (say; Nage-waza). After you slam some idiots on the deck it may actually become necessary to restrain them or should they resist or become combative, you might resort to actually choking them unconscious. After a throw the typical judo match might be over but it's where the real fighting starts. This is why (Traditional Kodokan) Judo randori also includes GRAPPLING. (Say; Katame-waza). Now as I've said before it is a common error to think that ALL Katame-waza are done on the ground. Some techniques can be performed standing BUT most grappling as you know is done on the ground. ( Say; Newaza) Matwork> See: ne-waza http://members.aol.com/koshinage/terms/N.HTM

Katame-waza include osae-komi-waza or hold down techniques like the "one little move they all love when the get side control and dominate the arm and sit there doing nothing".

But Katame-waza also include kansetsu-waza or joint techniques and shime-waza or choking techniques.

Now here's the real AMAZING part, The techniques in BJJ are the SAME techniques as the Judo techniques that they came from... (except for the names)

Yes, it's all judo (to me) I've been to the BJJ academy bro. I know the strengths of the local bluebelts and they have more respect for other styles than you have demonstrated.

Perhaps you have not had a worthy Judoka come to your club but that shouldn't give you this reckless undefeatable BS attitude that you spew...

                            Retarded indeed...

yea, just the run of the mill black belts that would be there before our BJJ classes started, as it was a Judo studio before we moved, they are good standing up with throws and thats pretty much it, a few joined BJJ and got their blue in about 6-8 months
