I know what you mean about "flowing". Alas, being a white belt, and weighing ~130 lbs rolling against 165-200+ lb guys, I'm still getting used to going with the flow. There's still a ton I need to learn about my own body before I'll consider myself confident with it by any stretch of the imagination.
I'd say my guard is my strongest position. Unfortunately this is where alot of the bruises come from, especially in no-gi class. People get quite frustrated with me and wind up digging into my legs or grabbing my wrists or collapsing onto my poor biceps.
But, it's gratifying when someone that weighs so much more takes half the round to escape and is nearly gassed when they finally do! Then...escape the side and put them right back into guard...doh! And when I get to spar people that actually weigh something close to me...fahgedaboutit!
My instructor still snaps my legs apart like a pair of disposable chopsticks though.
