A warning on heel hooks: Do not try this at home.

Make sure a qualified instructor teaches you. Often times you won't feel the pain until it's too late to tap.

You should ask your instructor. It is probobly the nastiest technique to know. Like someone earlier said, damage can be done before pain is felt. I had done BBJ for over a year before I was shown it. I was also warned never to do try it on someone who did not know it. Reason being that you must know to tap once its locked on but before its 'cranked'. Someone unfamilliar with the technique will not tap till they feel pain.
