      Keith--

I wish that were so, but for all intents and purposes, MMAs events are dead in the states for now. I seriously doubt much of anything would bring them back to their height circa the early UFC's. Not gonna happen for a long time, if ever.

MMA's are going to be purely grass-roots (and never mainstream) from here on out in the states.

it's a toss up between, 2,4,17. a lot of violence in 2. in 17, a lot of technical, exciting fights. in 4, i called it right from the beginning(Gracie) and technique prevails over brute strength. all my friends (non-MMA), were going, "there's no way in hell that skinny latin guy's gonna win, that guy's tooo small, wrestlers more powerful, blah, blah, blah . they were confused why severn tapped when he got triangled. actually, i would have to give a slight edge to 4 now that i think about it.

Where there any fights not televised at UFC IX? I ask because I noticed blood stains on the Octagon floor before the 'first' fight got underway. If so, then why wasn't it shown? Surely there were no alternate bouts at a non tournament event.
          Was UFC XXVII any good?
