  • Are the Martial Arts still under developement?

Throughout the history of the martial arts and all the combat systems of man training tools have played a vital part in evolving and perfecting these systems and techniques.

Whether it be the traditional wooden dummy, wing chun rings, iron palm ointments and even the system of using forms and karta have developed the martial arts into their current form.

Even today modern training tools are common and again the martial arts are under development with new training products such as the Wavemaster, the BOB training dummy, the Focus Master. All with one thing in common, to create a well rounded combat system.

Ideally a martial arts solo training tool should be workable for all and based on sound theory and through constant practice develop into sound physical application. The ideology and theory would have to take into account all the history of the combat technology of man and give this competition and street application.

I beleive new training tools will always occur and if anyone knows of any please feel free to post them below!

This is a little better than the spam posts you've made tonight on the other martial arts forums, but my question still stands.

How much of a market do you really expect for half a flat, padded, wing chun dummy?

bunyip the market size will be according to thoses who see value in it..and its a big world.

I would guess for example that your an aussie sinking a VB or fosters right now..how far did you think vegemite would go?

My main interest is in training and how to benifit new and experienced martial artists..

I remember when I first started out in training, I'd go home and wish the classes went for longer. I did so much home training infront of a mirror but now I can hit the hell out of my home opponent.

Also its not just wing chun but jeet kune do, choy lay fut, karate or whatever!

Anyhow as I said in the post these tools do develope the different styles.

I dont know, this looks pretty cheap. What benefits does this have that a wing chun dummy doesn't? Seems like if you hit it you might break your wall.

          hi,

its purpose is not the same as the wooden dummy

I hit it as hard as I can and it does fine, as you can see in the movies the force mainly goes through the padding to the wall but it is distributed over the surface space.

I set it up on a fence and the fence has survived..so far

Its really good for trapping and sandwiching techniques and great for a new student who usually can't train with force on his training partner or friend but can whack away at the martialarm.

I wouldn't mind using it for pleasure purposes, if you know what I mean.

that looks like a weight bench with a leg attatched...wtf? the idea to dummy training is not to hit it hard...its not for conditioning...its about proper angles which that thing, whatever it is...LACKS.

But this is not wooden dummy training and has nothing..well very little to do with 'small thought' form. It is used with force and allows a very close representation of an attack to your opponents closest weapon...His front arm.

In regards to pleasssuuurreee purposes we had offers from "sex-machines.com" but decided to go with the martial uses -"joke"

While it is used for training it also offers a pleasure of its own because it allows you to use force AS you apply an entry technique, which is not possible on your friend or training partner ... unless your in a fight.

Now the sex talk is over lets discuss the martial arts
