What are the best BJJ & MMA Instructional Videos?

Whats up guys... I was just wondering if you guys own any martial arts instructional videos and if so, if you think they are any good.

I have the whole Gracie series, which I think is pretty decent to teach somebody with no BJJ experience the basics.

I also have Bas Rutten's Superior Free Fight Techniques series, which is old, but good.

Bas' Lethal Streetfight video, which is pretty good practical stuff, and funny as hell.

Thats all I got for now... anybody else got anything? any good?

Your thread was titled "BJJ and MMA", so I'm taking it that you are interested in more grappling oriented stuff for MMA. Opinions vary, of course, but many, many people find Mario Sperry's Vale Tudo 1, 2. and 3 series to be excellent, and my own informal research suggests that these are the highest rated instructionals overall for a BJJ-oriented approach to MMA. You can find good deals on them on e-bay either on DVD or VHS. The De LaRiva Brazilian vale tudo/streetfighting set is also very good and is a great value $$.

The best bang for the buck that I've ever seen for MMA instructionals is Bas Rutten's Big DVDs of Combat. This set is more balanced with striking and grappling for MMA than is the Sperry or De LaRiva series, and it retails for a little over $100 for over 11 hours of instruction on 7 DVDS(!). Of course, Bas is known as more of a standup striker - and rightfully so, because he was great at it - but he has a keen mind for grappling on the ground too IMO. There is a lot of information on grappling in his set, and he not only shows positioning and submissions, but also the escapes and reversals. The weak point of this set is shoots/takedowns and defending them (and Bas even admits to this candidly), but you can get other instructionals for this that give the detail that is necessary for that part of the game (e.g., Darrell Gholar's Vale Tudo Takedowns (better value IMO) or Jackson and Varnsdale's takedown series). Nope, I've not seen them or heard much about them. That alone might be an inidication that they're just 'okay' if they've been out for some time... if they were really good or really bad, most likely they'd have a reputation for such given the status of the Machados. If they're just okay, it's more likely that they don't receive a lot of attention good or bad. Maybe someone else can address the quality of the Machado tapes.
