In cantonese we call it lay/lai and to call it 'la' means to grab which makes CLF mean totally somthing else.
As I said, the CLF is not what I have seen regardless of how bad it is and there are more CLF schools than the one you have been to.
The word offence is a spelling variation of offense, which both are accepted.

There ya go again, whats the "the ONE you've been to" about? why dont you provide a link to some traditional CLF since "your uncles a master" and show me some small frame CLF applications and forms....Im sure there are some, but thats not what the styles known for .....show me why i was wrong to identify it as CLF...

I am not saying that you are wrong to identify it as CLF but from what I have seen, the CLF looks more of a high stance when fighting, used large hooks and reversed it with a back fists and switched to short bridge combat when they got close. That clip showed that the guy could've learnt the stances from movies, could be wushu, could be from some other tiger style school and may even be Hung ga.My point to get across is that it may not be CLF in which you are so sure of, because a couple of stances aint gonna tell you what school they are from.

yes he had a low stance, thats usually taught to the young and beginners, i would say he qualified on both counts, the way he advanced, the punch angles and tempo all say CLF to me....

Spellings of words do not really matter. Things that are common venacular are fine...but fucking with shit that comes from a different character set in a different language is absurd.

an example, a theater form from Japan commonly spelled as "noh" in the english alphabet, really looks like "nou" when spelled in a set like hirigana. Kanji...completely different.
Chinese Kanji...because the languages are tonal, I won't even go there.
