Wow you're a little biased there... You obviously have to idea what the hell you are talking about.
Since you are a noob, i recommend you go lie down and leave the talking to the knowledgeable ones.
I am a MT & BJJ noob, doesn't mean I haven't taken other MA. I had taken Karate for 3 yrs, and I am a brown belt. At that time I had fought some TKD guys who were blue, red belt. When I was training in my MT gym, I saw many black belt x dan drop in too. Moreover, I had taken Hapkido, which the kicks are similar to TKD, for 6months.
So....you thought I had no idea what TKD was all about? well.....up to you. I don't mind
There is no need to combine TKD with MT because MT is freak fast and powerful. If you don't believe me, go to a MT gym ,and you will see. One more point to add, you will use no TKD against a MT guy. Check it out yourself OK?
Well if you put a shitty muay thai stylist against an olympic tkd champion who has trained under higher contact rules be surprised what happens.Put a shitty tkd stylist against a thai champion and bring a stretcher.Put a olympic level tkd guy vs a thai champion and so far as we have seen muay thai has won every fight.
Well the best TKD have never fought MT people. Olympic guys aren't the true reps. of TKD.
People always said MT owned karate. Sensei Nakamura (Seido Karate) beat a Thai kickboxer in a Japanese tournament. In Korea fight leagues, several competent TKD peopl ehave prevailed over Thai kickboxers.
I do agree the majority of MT practitioners are better fighters than TKD. But we have yet to see the really close calls, the true clashes between the masters of the two styles.
the only good thai boxers ive seen lose were the ones who faught in watered down kickboxing or karate rules where there were no leg kicks no face strikes etc etc.Im not doubting what you are saying but muay thai fighters have never lost a fight against another striking style in real full contact rules.
