  • Should I move up from a single weave gi?

I currently have MKimonos and Mizuno single weave gis. I'm looking to get one more. Giving the HCK gi a serious look now. But I'm not sure if I should stick with a single weave gi since it's what I'm used to, or if I should get a competition weave this time. Any reasons why I should consider getting a thicker weave?

Double weaves can take more abuse, won't tear as easily and last longer.

Do single weaves really wear down that fast? I've been using my MKimonos single weave for over a year now, and though it does look used of course, it's still holding up great. No tears or anything. And I roll full speed a lot in class too.

Just go with a single if that's what you're used to and like. I'd wait for the sirius single to come out. I hear they are to die for.

          Depends on the temperature?

Have they got aircon where you train?

Back in the UK, I´ll wear either as we train in about 20 degrees C, but here in Brazil, it´s single weave all the way, and still bloody hot. I get on well with the Vulcan summer gi´s, they´ve faded but not ripped or torn.

Maybe try that Lutador Americano hybred weave.
